No Power When Ignition Turned to On

Hi everyone, names Allan and had my 2014 triumph rocket 3 roadster for about 2 years now. Recently I got on the bike to head out on a run, when I turned the ignition on the engine wouldn't start, cranked once then stopped lost the neutral light and couldn't tell what gear it was in. I since changed the gear position sensor but I'm thinking the main loom or ignition switch main be at fault as now it won't turn on at all, clocks don't light up but the headlights dimly illuminate and then horn gives a horrible noise if pressed so some sort of power reaching there.

Has anyone encountered this issue or know what it could be, second hand looms for 150 I've seen on Ebay but don't want that to order one if it isn't that.

Any help appreciated and if anyone has a decent loom for sale let me know!

Battery is reading as full charge on my charger but getting a multimeter on it tonight to check exact voltages

can be dead anyway, check with voltmeter while cranking. It should not drop too much.

Changed the gear position sensor as it was dropping neutral when the problem first occurred but I'm guessing that could still be due to a low battery voltage

You can try to jump start it with a car next to it. But when the battery is really gone, it won't even start that way.

Yeah tried to jump it with a car battery hooked to it but it wouldn't start just crank once and stop, can't even bypass the battery and jump straight to the starter now as the clocks don't have power to them or anything

You probably know this, but in case someone comes across jumping the battery with a car in a search- you do not want to start the car. Just use the battery....

Your ignition switch could be fried (loose wire inside). Try getting a hand on the wires going into the switch and see if moving them around will bring it temporarily back to life. If so, this might help...

We need to know what the battery voltage is both at rest and when pressing the start button. We've seen batteries that show good voltage but when placed under any kind of load, fail open internally.

Now with the car battery hooked up directly to the motorcycle battery leads, tell us what happens when you turn on the ignition. What turns on? This will help determine if the switch is faulty or a relay or...

Also, how are you jumpering the starter? You stated you can't bypass the starter bacause the clocks don't have power??? If you go directly to the starter with the bike in neutral and supply power to the solenoid connection on the starter, it should spin.

Yeah I'd try bypass the battery but hooking up to the negative on the starter and positive to the positive power lead, will carry out all these points you've mentioned after work and put videos and explanations in as to what's happened. I'm hoping it's either the ignition switch issue or a new battery needed and not having to sit for the next 3 weeks carrying out continuity checks on the loom
