After 7 years and 35K miles - my shield has developed considerable "spider-webbing" and 2-3 actual small (1 - 1 1/2 inch long) cracks. So - it's time for a replacement blade.

I'm trying to decide between the Cee Bailey and the Clearview windshields. The Clearview has a nice additional feature in the adjustable vent - but other than that they appear to be pretty identical. Clearview is slightly more expensive. However, I can get the Clearview 4" wider than stock if I want to (actually - I have to do this if I want to get the adjustable vent).

So - any recommendations? Anyone have any experience with either of these products? Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

I have used four Clearviews on two different motors.
They have worked flawlessly with NO issues at 130mph +.

I cannot comment on the screens - But I have CEE-Bailey headlight lens covers.

They do not have anti-scratch coatings. This is imo a bit of a minus. They need to be polished regularly with proper plastic polish like Plexus.

It's actually a BIG plus of the original Triumph screens - National Cycle makes them and their coatings work.

Funny thing about my original shield - it developed cracks under the suction cups I use to attach my SunPass (an automatic tolling device for use on Florida's Turnpike system). It's almost as if the saliva I used to dampen the suction cups in order to attach them to the shield interacted with the Plexiglas somehow to cause the cracking.

I just came from the National Cycle Website and a replacement shield for the R3T is nowhere listed. I'll give them a call - but I don't think I can get a replacement from them.

@ksquared, I have a Triumph branded tall screen from a 2010 R3T, hardware included, that I had listed on here for $325. The shield is flawless and honestly the hardware is, too. If you're interested, PM me. I agree that National Cycle (and Triumph by default) have better durability than some of the aftermarket manufacturers. Also, the failure under your toll mounts might have been from increased vibration in that area. Plexi fails easily under tension, so adding even a menial amount of weight in one spot can cause larger deflection in that area on the shield.

Clearview 16'' with air box coming this week. I will let you know how it is once I get her mounted and out for a spin!

Hey Jag, please post a review of any kind of that shield(sorry for the hijack), i am also looking for a tall screen to ride on the colder months. I am 6'2 so the more protection, the better.
