Mounting an Exedra Max rear tire on the new 3R = Better Handling

This has me scratching my head...
You can get a 'Bridgestone Exedra Max'....and also they have a 'Bridgestone Exedra G852'...both available in 240/55R 16...
What is the difference between them?...anybody?..They look the same tread pattern.....

Good question. I just went down the rabbit hole trying to find out.

It seems the G852s are made specifically for certain Japanese bikes. The 240/55R 16 G spec tires are the OE rear tire for Suzuki Boulevard cruiser 2008-13. Those are H rated (130 mph) with a load rating of 73 (805 lbs.).

Interesting... I've been getting suckered into the marketing lingo on the G852's and thinking they were a higher performing tire. I'm regularly above 130 mph (on closed circuit race tracks of course ) so perhaps the Max continues to be the tire of choice for me. Still very much looking to hear riding impressions from people who have experience with both tires on this bike.

Has anyone measured the diameter of the rear hub opening? Also looking to order a properly sized hub adapter and trying to avoid pulling the rear wheel just for this measurement.
 
That was easy… I overcame my laziness and just unmounted my rear wheel to measure the hub diameter. It’s 60 point something millimeters just under 61 mm see the picture below. I couldn’t fit my digital caliper inside the rim so I just had this analog tool. Hope this helps others.
