just fitted the cruisertec’s to my bike. The Avon’s performed good but needed replacement after 11000km, so did my front brake pads. Our johannesburg dealership imported the cruisetec from Tailand to support their owners, that said some waited 8 months. they are expensive too…

I will scrub them in this weekend to have opinion. at first glance and without a comparison, the rear seems to have “quicker turn-in” shape than the Avon. the front is on par with avon - pronounced V shape. cruisertec has a lot more water displacement treads.

I don’t know how many miles. 3 months? I had my 20,000 mile service done mid-July. I bought her last June, 760 miles on her, so being retired has its advantages. Tires not being one of them. I did zero out my “B“ odometer when I put this new Cobra on, so we will see. Zero burnouts. This is from coming out of twisties in 2nd, 3rd and cranking it up to the next set. This bike probably hasn’t seen 200 miles of interstate. Except when I drove her from Toledo to Nashville.

The combination of street surface, abundance of twisties, and riding style accounts for shorter tire life "in these here parts."

I get about 4,000 miles to a tire, but have not run one down like @Nashvegas- but he's a wild man .

I've been asked about burnouts before too. What a silly way to literally burn money. Never done one in my life. Now, wheelies.....

I have a pair of Cruisetecs on an Indian...not too bad at first but, at the end of their life, they are downright dangerous in the rain...they spin in all directions and they slip badly. On the other hand, I find that the Avon of the Rocket 3R are super pleasant and hold very well...but I still avoid riding in the wet given the power of the beast! I'm trying to find a Bridgestone G852 but apparently they are harder to find than a gold vein

Cruisertecs are basically a heavy duty version of Roadtec 01 sports touring tyres. Same tread pattern. I tried a set of Roadtecs on my KTM 1190. Great grip and a magic carpet ride quality but the rear barely lasted 3000 miles. The middle tore out of it very quickly.

My default tyres on the KTM became Conti Road Attack 3's. Their cruiser equivalent is the Contitour. Whether they make those in the Rocket's sizes I don't know but if they do I'd definitely give them a try.
I'm finding the Cobras pretty good on the Rocket but they're don't offer a great deal of feedback.
