Metzler Tire Prices!!!!

Rear Metz (and Avon Cobra) run to around AU$415 - $425 fitted. Triumph dealer charges a lot more, btw. Not sure if any of you guys in Queensland or Sydney or elsewhere in Oz can get them any cheaper but I did a ring around only a month or so ago and the price was pretty consistent. One place was cheaper but made up for it by charging for fitting - same total. Had mine done in 25 mins while I waited at Joe's - and checked out gear and helmets to fill in the time.

From what they charge in US and UK, we're getting screwed.

Ordered my first rear (5,345 miles) today from Motorcycle Superstore. $216 shipped with the 10% coupon I just received via email. O.E.M. Metzler for R3 standard. I'm a happy camper!

8,000 mile on tires still look good new bike front seems to wear a bit funny but i saw another rocket and front tire wearing same way.;)

My original front Metz wore to a raised point down the center with the sides wearing in an alternating cupped pattern. Never seen a front tire do that before. Replaced it with an Avon Cobra that now has more than double the mileage the Metz had with no visible sign of wear whatsoever. I have the front tire re-balanced each time I replace the rear so it was not a balance issue ... the only explanation I have is that it was a Metzler. ;)

By July 1st I'll be running a BFG G-Force 225/55 ZR16 Darkside rear and the Avon Cobra front. I'm excited to see how the combination performs and wears. I no can no longer justify the cost of three Metzlers on the rear in 17,000 miles. I don't do "burnouts" but occasionally accelerate pretty hard, the rubber just sluffs off the center of the Metz like it was made of jello. It even sluffs off at an angle on the sides after accelerating out of a curve ... that doesn't inspire much confidence in a tire.
