Maggie valley June 2019

We went from the bottom up, we never saw another vehicle in front or behind us, it was great. Rick and I were talking, we both felt it was way easier to follow someone, I've kept up with some pretty good riders here, but I don't think I could have rode that fast alone
Yes, you are talking about my exceptions.
Instructor types or companions.

You are missing my point. People follow a line of slow-moving traffic through the Dragon. DON'T DO THAT! It's a waste of your riding it.

Options:
1.The slower traffic will pull off and let you by at their first chance.
2. You find a way to safely pass.
3. You pull off and wait for a good opening in the traffic.

Any of these options is allowing you to ride your own pace, not follow a slow line of parade riders.

@Dr.D are you familiar with "The Gauntlet"? I usually vacation near Andrews but am staying in Hiawassee, Ga. this time which is below Murphy. Lots of good riding around there but not familiar with The Gauntlet.
Yes we have done those roads and it is the best Georgia has to offer. We especially like sr 60.

I wanted to add that the highlight of my cross country trip north and MV adventure was the honor and privilege
of riding and hanging out with a true American Hero and all around nice guy.

Andy's (Ogre) childhood friend Charlie is not only a highly decorated Vietnam Veteran, but he has been a POW/MIA advocate
and Veterans rights supporter for over 3 decades.

And if that weren't enough, in 2008 he located the body of a missing Iraq Veteran who was suffering from PTSD which resulted
in a motorcycle accident and subsequent death.

These two articles are a little graphic and I hope he doesn't mind me sharing the links but I think its good to hear positive
stories of one bikers history.

Marine survives near fatal wound from VC machine-gun in Vietnam

Tracking a Marine Lost at Home

You never know who you'll meet on the road...

I salute you Charlie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
