The thread is "what is a good LED headlights"
There is some good stuff but only as good as the OEM style with great bulbs, butt hey are higher end price tags. The reason is that your eyes like a specific colour and fog is a thing plus not blinding traffic. most LED's do not do a good job and have a much lower LUX and crappy beam pattern that are not as good as the OEM even thought the LUMENS (BS MARKETING TERM) are higher.
aftermarket makers never spend decades and millions of $ and top engineers making their product to sell on amazon and make in china sweat shops. There is a reason good stuff costs $ and the OEM stuff is also great for the cost. 99% of all the BS reviews out there and most of the comments here are dyno seat bias with just a few levels of experience. I will trust those that have reviewed EVERY HEADLIGHT OUT THERE and spend the time and research to come to the same conclusion that i am saying here. Not some guy who never rides at night or some cr0tch rocket demon who rides so fast that seeing where you are going is a novelty.
BUT if you want to go LED there is only one solution, pay up for it.
TLDR: You get what you pay for
there are hundreds of threads and thousands of videos on YT about this. no need to make this another "this is what i have" and "i cant ride in anything but full sunny day" threads
There is only one quality LED headlight worth buying and that's why all the others copy them and do a poor job at it. Its not Lumens, its LUX and colour and pattern and cutoff angles, and NONE of the competitors do it better or even close to as good as JW speaker. that's it. end of thread, end of debate. this is fact. Want to spend half the $ as the best, well you get half as good and everything under that is just as good as the junk put on 99.9% of the cars up till the mid 2000's
Once you ride at night in a car or on a bike with good vs bad aka cheap stuff, you will never go back. there is a reason a poor person like my self spent the $900 for the ones on my truck that also auto thaw ice. There is NOTHING better. The same reason i go with the best for many things from bathroom renovations and waterproofing (my trade) to guns, TV's to IT gear, really anything and everything. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR (as long as you are an educated consumer). If you pay less you get less. there is NO DEBATE HERE.
that being said: not everyone needs or uses those things to the full potential and $is something not everyone has to buy the thing that they never use.
If you never ride at night, we are not going to take your headlight advice seriously
If you do not ride in the rain, im not going to take your riding in rain advice seriously.
So the advice you have is noted but we don't care. If you want that discussion then start your own thread about "why i don't ride at night"
I say this with respect but honesty.
ok rant over, go buy whatever you want and ride how you want!
thats the point of a motorcycle
