Keep'n it stock?

Peter, I'm not much of a wrench turner myself (my father, different story), but I can say, there's nothing changed on my bike that I haven't done myself (except design the tune). Of course with a lot of help and knowledge from the friendly folks here! :D I'm trying to keep it that way for a few reasons. First, the one you mentioned, though I doubt I even find a dealer anywhere to help :p and second because it helps me get to know my bike better and become a little more mechanically inclined. But most of all, it just gives me a lot of joy to work on her and see, hear, and feel the changes that I accomplished that I would have never thought I was able to do.:D

When we are able to ride our rockets where ever we please I have a question , if these bikes with all the modification have a problem say for example a 1000km's from home and you need some assistance from the local triumph dealership are they going to be knowledgable enough to work on the bike

Depends very much upon the dealer, but I would not rely on them. However, there doesnt seem to be many breakdowns on the side of the road.
Those of us who live in warmer climes dont suffer the dead batteries and other starting problems that the owners in cold parts suffer from.
Owners usually have problems right after a modification has been done. When that happens it usually needs the tune looked at.
Once you start doing mods ,you build up a list of people who can help you.
I carry an RAC premium card with me and if it stops and they cant fix it,on the truck it goes.

Hello zimtuff,
RAC Premium card? Is that a roadside assistance plan. The reason I ask is that north of the boarder we don't have a lot to choose from.
Thanks

The Royal Automobile Club ,I think the Duke of Edinburgh is the royal patron:D
Its based on the British organisation ,they started off doing breakdown assistance but have now expanded into all sorts of insurance and travel assistance.
They didnt want to insure my Rocket though:mad:

After reading here I made inquiries with the racq and found out that I was covered with all my vechiles . If I'd known that last week I could have saved on tow truck expenses to Gladstone ,cost $330 ah well sh,,t happens

Bugger, might check with NMRA

Good idea Hans I'm gonna up grade mine to the premium package around $230 a year .that gives me up to 200km,s towing before I start paying, also accommodation if required

After which you'll never ever break down again  ... i had a similar set-up with my HD. Broke down at the Threeways Garage , operator at the breakdown service couldn't even find Threeways on his computer .. suggested he google " middle of f#ckin nowhere". They required the bike be crated in a genuine Harley crate and it could only be transported by their own contracted carrier. Was going to be at least a week stuck at that stinkin servo. Paid a bloke $100 , loaded bike onto his trailer and headed off to Mt Isa. Owner of the HD shop there ratted the part off her bike and I was on my way that afternoon. Premium package wasn't worth jack**** in that situation.
