Once you get to know one, and I mean really know one ie riding a almost every day, a Racket handles as good as anything. Pretty much gets down to technique rather than any issues with the bike. As they say, practice makes perfect. Nothing like having someone finally catch up you and say "how the hell do you get that thing going so fast through corners?"

Out of curiosity, what does the Rocket III Roadster stand at RPM wise on the highway at about 80-100KPH in 5th gear? Does it feel like its revving high or kind of chugging away at a lower RPM due to the massive power available? I know that on my M109 at 120kph its pulling about 3500rpm and feels like it is working fairly hard but I know it can do way more...

low end of the revs with good torque, there is nothing with as much on offer where you don't expect it!

Less than 2.5K RPM at 60mph/100kph if I remember right (haven't ridden it in a few weeks, on it tomorrow though....can't wait)

It will be around 2500rpm or just over at 110kph , as for the M109r out handling the rocket not a chance in hell . I owned one before the rocket and loved it but not a patch on a rocket for power , brakes , and handling. Just get one and be addicted like the rest of us . Glen-icob there must be something wrong with your bike if it handles worse then a M109R lol

At 80 mph (129 kph) it's happily turning 3000 RPMs, and ready for more. It's a very different feeling than a Vtwin. The crank is set with all 3 connecting rods at 120 degrees apart, so it's a very smooth running engine.

Needs 6th. It's pointless having this engine sitting at 3,000 rpm on the highway. The "brains" at Triumph need the Mitch treatment - bloody good chop to the wind pipe.
One of the (many) reasons why the higher profile Bridgestone is a vast improvement over the Metz (or Avon).

Very good point, all that torque would work very well at uber low revs in 6th...might get some serious MPG on the long haul!

Incredible just how well you can punt a Rocket through the twisties once you are confident riding one. Know the Rockets surprised a few of the other blokes through Cradle Mountain a couple of weeks ago.

Like Dave, I had an M109r for a couple of years and living in Tassie with all the twisty roads I can tell you that the rocket roadster does Handel better than the 109 without a doubt.
