Is the Rocket III for me? Hi from Canada!

Good Morning everyone! Yes, today in Toronto its a nice -10c, and its still FALL! I am not sure if a test ride will be possible in this weather LOL! The wind chill would probably flash freeze my nuts...
o_OGeeez and I thought it was bit cool the other day it was down to 15c after 32c the day before and thought I was going to freeze when it got down to 6 in winter:eek:

hey ricochet,
my previous bike was a M109, and the one thing i didn't like on it where those cheap plastic bodyparts, you wont find those on the rocket...
also, i tried the removable backrest from the M109 on the roadster, but it requiered drilling holes etc to put the mounting points onto the backfender, so i didn't use it.
imho the M109 handles better than the rocket, but the sheer brute power feeling and stabillity of the rocket will make you smile everytime you drive the roadster...

Hey Glenn! Thanks for the response. I do agree with you 100%.... I am pretty un-impressed after 5 years of owning the bike with all the plastic parts.. the paint job is absolutely horrible with the thinnest paint I've ever seen, and the headlight isn't even fixed so it bounces around when you go over bumps and stuff.. The front end suspension is way, way too soft.. like it was designed for a 140lb japanese rider.

I've heard mixed responses regarding which one handles better, but both bikes have a 240 on the back, and I've added a 160 to my front, so I think they probably would handle quite similarly... But I'll need to sit on it and see how I fit.

Getting pretty excited to check the bike out tomorrow morning!!

If you test ride the thing get it up to 60mph in 3rd and then twist hard, you WILL get hooked!

Ricochett, i thing you are going to break the record of the longest introductory thread, you are catching up with my thread killer!!

It's nothing I am particularly proud of... I don't think I've ever had a thread on any forum that made it past 10 posts... I guess all you need is a little emotion and people go crazy for it like sharks smelling blood!!

Or drop it to 2nd and really feel it jump from a 60 mph roll. :D

Like I said way back on the 2nd page of this thread. The 109 seems to handle better at very slow speeds, but is at a disadvantage in the tight turns because of the lack of lean angle. With my 109 vs my nephew on his VRod we were always right on each other in the turns. We went hit one of our favorite roads after only 4 days of me having my R3, and I left him in 3 turns and couldn't see him anymore. He was so far behind that when I reached the end of the road, I shut off my bike and got off and still couldn't hear him for almost 30 seconds. When I asked what happened he said he was all out, and just couldn't lean over enough to keep up.

Keep those revs up and she feels like a sportbike. As I've mentioned before in another post, I've become quite addicted to the roar and acceleration when keeping the revs around 3500rpm. Obviously I'd keep her lower on the highway or for long trips but around town, high revs rule. Whack it open at 3500rpm in 3rd and you're hooked.
