How to Install Triple K&Ns Under BearClaw

Hey Flip, that's great.
I have a cut claw and the top back edge of the filter cover on my rearmost triple
is getting worn from my leg rubbing against it.
Those toppers should solve that problem.

... or start wearing your leg instead of the filter. LOL

Just checking...

So, I have read through this post as well as others and have a couple of questions. First, I have a 2005 R3 and want to put the 5 K&ns on per the original post as well as pull the secondaries. I also would like to drop a tune in via TuneECU...is there one specifically for this set up or will I need to take it in to a shop to do that?

Second, with this kind of setup what kind of HP increase should I expect?

I've been looking for the same tune but with TORs added. Haven't seen one posted yet. It may not exist.

OK - I've read the entire thread and I think I'm hooked. However, I have an R3T and other than Hardy, I don't see that this mod has been done by anyone with an R3T.

So, can this be done to the R3T and, if so, what are the changes in the install which must be observed. I tried to check out Hardy's link - but all I get is an "unavailable" server error.

Thanks in advance.

Help! I have the 2011 Roadster if that makes a difference. I installed the filters, removed all the airbox parts, but once I removed the side panel, I was lost. I can't find the O2 Sensor or O2 Eliminator. It doesn't quite look like it does in the pic. Also, what do you do with the sensor that was plugged into the exhaust pipes where you put the oil plug? It's just gone with no mention of what to do with it... Please help

you pull the o2 from the exhaust. disconnect it under the right panel. plug the by pass in that connector. the o2 sensor you pull from the exhaust should be put on the fence and shot with a 40 cal pistol. :D it's fun.... try it!!!!!!

Gee... We hve those too, in stock.

I'm gonna let the cat out of the bag. I'm finalizing the laser plots for my Flipmeisters Polished and Satin 6000 Series Aluminum Triple K&N Filter Toppers, soon to be offered on the website.

They will attach to the top of each individual RU2780 with a stainless steel stud and insert nut. Installation will be simply laying the enclosed template over the filter top and marking the location of the stud hole, then drilling through the top of the filter and securing the Topper and they will fit on top of fliters that utilize the K&N Water Resistant Overwraps as well.

Life is good.
Woohoo ive been waiting very IMPATIENTLY for these flip you are a living legend i will be getting a set from you for sure :D keep us posted mate

So, I have read the whole post and it sounds like I am not done ordering parts... I guess now I need another $400 to buy a Power Commander and an O2 Bypass... There goes my paycheck... :( I have already removed the secondaries and installed the filters. Is there any way I can avoid buying these parts for now and do a 12 minute tune, or will the bike explode if I don't have them immediately?
