How to Install Triple K&Ns Under BearClaw

What is the can in the filter space for? is that where you moved the overflow?

Affirmative. Here's another pic of it prior to installing:

The "catch can" from Summit Racing, is to replace my OEM coolant overflow bottle. I wanted to take a picture of it first, and compare it to the amount of coolant that I removed from the OEM overflow bottle. Roughly half a pint of coolant; so the new "catch can" should be adequate (1 pint capacity):

Wow, I hope you just had that lying around from another project, 'cause that's some serious overkill. lol
Oh, and the line you attached the hose to is a "dip-tube" isn't it? because if it's just an inlet, the coolant can't get back out.

I tend to "over-engineer" things. That's one of my sins. This particular "catch can" was actually a modification done and documented by another Captain on the Triumphrat.net board, so I copied it.

It is plumbed correctly; as you have observed the top hose is the overflow, the radiator vent hose attached to a bottom fitting; which cannot be seen in the picture.

AHA, I see. It's just a pretty can and all, thought you might want to put something that shiny up front where the stock one was to show it off after you cut the claw. Probably be a ***** to mount there.

Great Big HELP. Ok fellers. I have a 2006 Classic with Cat Bypass and TORS installed with Triumph factory tune for the same.

I have purchased the K & N filter set up but I do not have a PCIII or Tuneboy in any configuration. In speaking with the mechanic at the dealership they have a PCIII.

Sooooooooo, and I know this is painful as I have read this entire thread. If I just want better air flow, and put the K & N's on as described, no GiPro with ATRE and no secondaries removed as a hot rodder I am not, what freakin tune should I use and where do I get it ?

Please pardon the ignorance, I am aging rapidly and I just don't have the time to do this anymore. I want better air flow, the bike is fast enough and I'll be pulling a trailer a lot, but not all of the time.

Please be brutally honest ( I know y'all can do that) and tell me if the K & N's are worth my time to install or not. They're already paid for so let me hear it. I am not opposed to removing the secondaries but ripping up asphalt is behind me now.

The K&N's are worth it. I would also yank the secondaries while you are there. There are tunes available for your set up on PCIII, Tuneboy and TuneEcu.

If I were you, I would load a tune for your set up with TuneEcu. Your only cost is the cable ($10) unless you can hook up with someone that has one already. Then I would get a PCIII then have a dyno tune done.

Thanks Pig9r. I reckon I'll buy a cable, think I saw a link in this thread somewhere. I went on TuneECU and tried to figure out what I was looking at. I think I need a teen to help me out:eek:.

He's absolutely right, it will be too lean with the triples and you have to richen it somehow but doing it yourself is guessing ... just be careful.

air temp sensor

Hi
Need some advice from you experts. I have fitted the air temp sensor on top of the KN filter. I have used the original grommet to secure this. In your opinions will this be OK to leave

Thia is my modified claw i am fitting a PC111 and TOR and getting it dyno next week
