How much to spend on a helmet.

We get raped in Oz when buying good stuff. Also if you're helmet does not have the Australian Design Rule sticker on it - well you are not allowed to use it. Gubment fleasing at it's best.

Please start steaming every Aussie Rules Sticker off every helmet you can find...cuz I can guarantee you that anything I bring down there won't have one on it.

I am with Hans here had a evoline II which is why I can still talk ,walk and breathe. I will be getting a evoline III this time around.
Picture this can you look thru your helmet and watch the face shield grind off on the asphalt and live thru it? Well you can with the Shark Evoline series, that I can vouch for!!!!!!!
roof desmo.. when you lift the chin bar the shield goes up automatically and the chin bar can be parked all the way behind so you get no buffeting from the wind you can then lower the shield same if you grab the chin bar and rotate forward to the front position the shield goes up you can then lock it down on the chin bar.
the peripheral vision is slightly superior to the evoline lll I felt a bit claustrophobic in the evoline lll so I bought the roof very happy with it and I discovered that when riding into the sun I can rotate the chin bar up and use it as a sunshield

the Evoline does all that too, I cant speak about the claustrophobic (something I suffer from in most full-face helmets edit but not in the Evoline or my new Shark carbon race pro) feeling as I have not tried the Roof but I have found the field of vision prefect for me in the evoline

You do know those little approval stickers come off cheap helmets easily with a little bit of hair dryer heat and if you accidently drop them onto a non approved import someone may mistake it for an approved helmet:sneaky:

I'll attest to my shark Evo III
It's on the heavy side, but as a few have mentioned you get a little extra for that. I tried the boxer, shuberth, and Nolan. The shark was honestly the best fit. And I'm glad because I love that it's safety rated in both the up and down positions. In town I keep it up, better vision, cooler, etc. getting on highway or open road I just pull it down and lock in. Perfect for me! @R3Tex I learned that lesson very quickly as well! The clear shield has to be up before closing the face. Not much issue for me as I usually ride with my shades on and only put the shield down when I close the face anyway. But an excellent warning to bring up. Glad it worked out for you and nurse!

these two helmets are really a cut above everything else in terms of versatility even the cops in calgary are issued evoline lll and they are DOT rated (Equivalent to snell)
