How much to spend on a helmet.

I forgot to mention my other older helmet is a Shark Evoline 1 which is near the end of its life it to is good helmet but hell noisy, I believe the newer Evoline 3 is supposed to be quieter but I have been spoilt now with new one I doubt I would ever buy a modular one again, but if looking for a modular Shark Evoline's are my pick for having the best side vision out there and they come around to offer a bit more protection to the lower part of your face when open
the ROOF DESMO is similar to the new evoline and has a larger field of vision I checked them both .so I went for the desmo..not cheap but happy after 3 months of wearing it

I like my Bell Star helmet. Ventilation is great but sometimes wished it wasn't so ventilated even with the vents are closed. The visors are very easy to change.... I can do it with my eyes closed. I have been looking for another helmet lately myself so I find this thread interesting. I've been looking at Shoei ..... X12 and RF 1200 but Shoei helmets are expensive.
No used helmets for me. One drop of a helmet can compromise its shell and one will not even know it.

Was told the less vents the quieter the lid will be , kind of makes sense. Shoei has a new helmet out ..NXR it's called in Oz, claim it's the lightest , quietest helmet they have ever offered. Around the $600 -$700 mark.

Yeah that's the RF-1200 (USA)

I use a cheapo Bilt brand. Think it was on sale for $59.95? Seems ok, just have to reglue some moulding back around the edges sometimes. Didn't want to spend too much, my old head ain't worth much.

I Just paid $750 for a Shoei GT-AIR, used it for the first time on Sunday - A bit tight at first but very quiet and light.
Apparently wind tunnel tested......

just found this...
