I can say that with all the bikes i have owned, the Rocket X has been the best by far. previous bikes 350 RD yamaha, 750 Honda, 900 kawasaki, BMW boxer , Shadow 1100, Goldwing, Bonneville and Harley Davidson. Nothing comes close to the Rocket. It is what I have been looking for in a bike since I started to ride. Real glad I bought it. When it comes to curb appeal, I have received more compliments on the bike than I ever did riding any of the above. All around rideability whether it be a short ride or a long ride I find the Rocket to suit my needs and then some. Yes riding the Rocket X is something to brag about, any rocket for that matter. Just the presents of a Rocket is enough to intimate most folks. It is what it is BIG UGLY AND FAST and a lot of fun to ride. It is like what my dad asked me the first time he saw the Rocket X "How well you top this one" I just gave him a blank stare and said I do not believe I can.

ITS FUNNY how you say the Rocket is UGLY MY 09 CLASSIC gets so much attention and compliments at the biker hangout and the women really like it and they like to take pics sitting on the bike the big ugly beast is considered beautiful by so many with good taste LOL

YES BUT it is amazing how the women like the look of the ROCKET they always pay attention to the beast and ignore the flock of HARLEYS

I get a kick out of some people when you tell them 140 cubic inches. A lot of Harley riders do not understand CC's but when you say 140 cubic inches it gets there attention.

Just had this experience yesterday. Stopped by the local Harley dealer to have a look around. Noticed all the talk about cubic inches, realized I needed to translate.

if you change the exhaust it will be smoother and sound nicer when cruising on the highway

My mufflers are still stock and I will be changing that soon, but OMG I used to work on a farm and drive an Alice Chalmers tractor. The stock rocket soooooo reminds me of that tractor sound.

You are right on the money with the sound ,a stock Rocket with TORS does sound like a lot of old 4 cylinder OHV tractor motors the old up draught carburettors are a real gem so simple but efficient.

Let's be insecure in what we ride and bash someone's ride of choice to make ourselves feel better about our own bike.

That's pretty much what all this is about. It's just that no one wants to own this fact. We want to BEAT the validation of our chosen (or not so "chosen", for whatever set of circumstances) ride out of everyone else. Peer pressure and acceptance exerts more influence over us than any of us care to admit.

I love all sorts of "cruiser" class bikes, though I (by choice) ride a R3T, purchased new in 2015. Though I've owned many brands, and even multiple models within certain brands (H-D, BSA, Triumph, Moto Guzzi, Yamaha, Honda, etc.), I've seen the day when ANY brand of motorcycle would have thrilled me, and would have been a "royal luxury" for me. I recall my time with a third-hand Yamaha XS650 parallel twin (great motor!!), back in the mid '80's (though I've been riding since 1970), and how fortunate I was to have it after a lot of tough times (business losses, divorce, child, etc.). (STILL wish I had that bike - I'd make a bobber out of it.)
