Brand bashing, why bother? It's a shame we can't all just respect the choices of others. Most owners thinks they have the best and think that there bike is worth the most. I own 3 Harleys, I like them for what I use them for. I've owned other makes, joined their forums and noticed the same belief that they thought their bikes were the best. Good for them, good for us. Let us enjoy what we own and not bash others choice of ride. If its got wheels and they are out there riding then they have some respect from me. I don't much listen to those who put no miles on or don't even own a bike, or those who only know one bike brand. Remember, sometimes opinions are like a**holes everyone has one and they all stink. Also remember an opinion has only the value you place in it as they are always given for free. For me I'd rather spend my time out on the road enjoying myself than to spend my time praising my brand or knocking another's choice. Peace

Never owned a Harley. Ride with plenty of friends that do. Never had any issues. Don't really care, just wanna ride.

Hell in my America I carry an SAE tool kit just so I can help. Old timers respect Triumphs and younger guys are full of questions. Some are AHs

I respect your opinion. For what it's worth, if that's what you believe, don't reply. It just pushes the thread back to the top to go around again and waste people's time.

Some people are @ssholes and really intend to disrespect other riders. But I didn't get that at all from this post.

Every bike I've owned has been the best bike, simply because I could ride it.... I love the Rocket Roadster for what it does, and for the area it excels in. Triumph hit it out of the park. But tomorrow when I hit the road to go downstate, I'll be on the Harley with the trunk, full fairing, radio and cruise control. And I'll wave at everyone riding a bike, even if it's a Vespa.

I think about that a lot looking toward the years ahead. Your post really describes my feelings exactly. I've been looking at outfitting the Rocket with a bit more luggage capacity and some long distance comforts, but I just don't get very excited about it. I'm not really interested in trying to force it and making the bike into something it's not ideal at being.

Actually the more I'm getting back into it, the more I want my Rocket to be a stripped down speed demon to ride purely for fun. I think a lot about someday having a "proper" touring bike, which was really made to be that from the ground up. Harley, Goldwing… I don't know what it will be, but I'm pretty sure it's in my future. I won't be buying anytime soon, but I'm actually going Saturday morning to test ride a couple Harleys, and I'm pretty excited about it.

I can say that with all the bikes i have owned, the Rocket X has been the best by far. previous bikes 350 RD yamaha, 750 Honda, 900 kawasaki, BMW boxer , Shadow 1100, Goldwing, Bonneville and Harley Davidson. Nothing comes close to the Rocket. It is what I have been looking for in a bike since I started to ride. Real glad I bought it. When it comes to curb appeal, I have received more compliments on the bike than I ever did riding any of the above. All around rideability whether it be a short ride or a long ride I find the Rocket to suit my needs and then some. Yes riding the Rocket X is something to brag about, any rocket for that matter. Just the presents of a Rocket is enough to intimate most folks. It is what it is BIG UGLY AND FAST and a lot of fun to ride. It is like what my dad asked me the first time he saw the Rocket X "How well you top this one" I just gave him a blank stare and said I do not believe I can.

Funny how I am opposite, I use my rocket for the size but never really considered the lack of creature comforts. I chose the R3T due to it being so large which unlike my decker after 3- 4 hours I still feel cramped, the rocket has given me a little more room and I am hoping to take it on a cross country road trip. I especially like the power as I am planning on pulling a trailer. I didn't purchase my rocket solely for the power but I do admit it was a nice selling feature.
