Like everything they had run their course. KAW was 900 and the Honda four was still 750. The race was on and is still on today, Honda started it, thats my only point.
Yes it was a nice bike when it came out very smooth and sounded good I had several traded in on the KAW H1 and H2 two strokes as they were faster so I owned plenty of them and would ride from time to time and they were a nice bike
THE two stroke KAWASAKIS where faster than the Honda 750 but the HONDA was a nice bike being a four stroke THEN KAW came out with the Z1900 in 1972 and it was the KING period
I have seen a Norton Commando clean a Z1 900 up on the old Rd from Berowra to Kariong in a race at the time for $100 both good riders the Norton rider won easily by over 2minutes the Z1 was all over the road like a mad womens Sh**
I didn't know you were a dealer. You go back quite a ways. I'm 74 in a few weeks, how about you? I was around when Ekins opened his first shop. Von Dutch worked in a body shop down the street from Buds shop before he went to work for Bud. A guy by the name of Cliff Major (THE SANDY BANDIT) ran his shop while Bud was racing.
