Hahah dreamers...........

There may have been something wrong with your H2...I had a '70 H1 with expansion chambers and velocity stacks and it still wasn't as fast as my buddy's stock '73 H2...that thing was wicked fast...it would wheelie walk in all 5 gears....I do remember the '72 H2 was the fastest model though...
YOUR right the H2 was faster than the H1 I had the national records with both bikes and I was a KAW dealer then

Harley isn't stupid. Harley is in business to make money and they have done good at it. Their bikes aren't that good in comparison to just about everything else but their marketing is great. They play to certain type of customer base, not all but mostly brand conscious followers. They love the sound and that will change once they water cool them. The company makes more on clothing then bikes. They have the HOG club thing going that many of their customers love. They play to women. The design of the engine is just fine with them and the customers done know or care any different.
OH they care I frequent the local Harley dealer they are friends and I hear all the complaints about the overheating and those guys spend thousands of $ on engine performance mods trying to keep up Im shocked that they so much money and never really make big HP

Why would you be shocked. I would be shocked if they ever did make big horsepower with a two cylinder air cooled engine small enough to fit in the frame that could meet the noise and emission rules allowing them to be sold in all the states and many countries. The basic design can be made to make big horsepower as witnessed at drag strips but they have little semblance to a Harley engine other than somewhat similar looks.

YES DAVE there isnt one HARLEY part used in any of those giant V twin drag bikes BUT I see some of these guys have $100,000 dollars invested trying to be TOP DOG on the street now thats a SHOCKER

I TOTALLY AGREE, although they may finally be able to beat the other Harleys for awhile.

HONDA 750 sales slowed way down when the 900 KAW came out I know I was taking them in as trades and had so many that I was having a hard time selling them and getting good money for them

Like everything they had run their course. KAW was 900 and the Honda four was still 750. The race was on and is still on today, Honda started it, thats my only point.
