Gotcha, those comments make sense. Let us be honest here, it's not like this bike is a poor performer when it comes to power, so I'll just stick with the US version just to be on the safe side. my OBDLINK LX should be here tomorrow and I'll get rolling. Appreciate the comments!

Remember, just load it and ride. Don't reset the engine adaptions!

I took the opportunity with my newly licensed copy of TuneECU, and my OBDLink MX+ to attempt to program my '21 Triumph Rocket 3 GT. After connecting to the bike, it appears to me as if the bike might have already been updated by the previous owner. I'm just guessing here, but when I pull the ECU info, the following is displayed in the two attached screenshots. I purchased this bike used with 707 miles on it. I'm unsure how long the previous owner had it but did put on a few K's worth of options and the price was right. Anyhow, any feedback would be welcome here. Thanks. As I stated It appears that this person may have already programmed the bike with the 31003 map. Please note that at this time of the screenshot I didn't even have the map downloaded yet.

Both the stock and Penner maps will show 31013_2 (version 2). You can’t read the map from the ECU so you can’t tell if Penner’s map is loaded.

Great, thanks for the update regarding that. I'm new to TuneECU, so I'm not quite sure what it's showing me. Appreciate the update.

So you have gotten Penner’s map from TuneECU.net, unzipped it and saved it in your TuneECU folder?

Yes I have the file downloaded and saved to the phone. One curiosity that I noticed is that TuneECU through the MX+ adapter doesn’t seem to want to read the ECU unless I start it. After the bike is started it reads the ECU just fine. After than I just shut it off and leave it in “ON” mode with the display lit. I’m guessing this is normal?

To load maps, the battery should be on a charger and the headlight fuse pulled. Assuming you have read the Penner map under Maps and it is displayed, you should turn the ignition on but not start the bike. Under ECU, I believe you would hit connect. It needs to register your bike the first time you connect. The red light in the lower right should flash green before you write. I did this with an earlier version and the registration process is more complicated now. Have you checked out the manuals on TuneECU.fr or Facebook?

My issue with the ECU not connecting was that I did,n't have the bike in "on" position as I thought. Once I had that sorted out, loading the map wasnt anything difficult. I perfomred no further optimizations after that, pulled everything and went for a short ride. Fueling seems much better and it feels less soft with the throttle. Definitely a bit more snot to it. Very cheap upgrade! Thanks for the help!

In addition to derestricting the electronic throttle at the high end, Penner also added some fuel and advanced the timing in 3rd to 6th gears at mid and low throttle and rpm.

if you open the map and scroll thru the pages until you come across the ETV(2), and ETV(3) pages...you should see 100 down the last column in green. This then is the correct tune. It may already be in the bike but doing it again to be sure wont hurt.
I stand to be corrected but i'm lead to believe that ETV(1) is rain mode...ETV(2) is road mode and ETV(3) is sport mode.
