@DQDude ...
Thanks for the pics! Very interesting!
There is no way in hell I would ever try this myself. Makes my head hurt to think about it.
However, I'm getting good at taking the seat and panniers off and such, does that count?
Keep up the good work Dude , member @mr hunt , if my memory serves me correct , Undertook the same job last year I think ? Keep the pictures coming i for one am following this with much interest !
When I had my trans apart, that bolt was just a little more than finger tight. I took it out, cleaned the threads and used a generous amount of red Loctite.
Some of mine had that too. Not sure what it's for. How many miles on bike ? I would take a look at the circlip that holds third gear in place and see if it's starting to look like this
I would also check the bellville washers on the end of fifth gear to see if they are doing this to the end washer
I'm tapped for the day, I'll pull the clips tomorrow and inspect those as well as tbe washers. Ohhhh before i cover my boat anchor for the night. Anyone see this issue with the paint? I've seen coolant and brake fluid do this, but it would be all over the lube system, this is isolated to the clutch area. Found paint flake debris in the pressure pump screen when removing it last week. Sure as hell looks just like a crappy QA job from the factory.
