To Optimate or Not?

Batteries weren't sealed. I had left the optimate on the one. It wouldn't start so I put a booster pack on it . Tried to start it. I could hear weird noises. I put my head down to try to hear where the noise was coming from and the battery exploded. The weird noises was cracking from the battery

I've never had an issue with the Battery Tender brand.

My 24 R3 GT has got a flat battery after sitting in the garage for a couple of weeks.

Have now swapped the Optimate from another bike.

How has everybody else using this type of Charger got on with it?

My 2020 GT has never been on a battery charger of any kind.
