Fastest quarter mile 2.5L rocket

Another thing is to get rid of any extra weight on the bike. Passenger seat, pegs, plate holder, rear fender, mirrors, tool kit, excess fuel in tank...
passenger seat - i will remove next time
plate holder and mount is long gone already
mirrors - will remove next time
tool kit - will remove next time
excess fuel in tank and my body - will remove next time

Can someone throw some light on if changing shock absorber setting will help? I heard somewhere that it does help in quarter mile.

You could try turning in the rebound adjustment in your front fork all the way. This has the effect of weighing down the front end. Will help with 60 foot times. Any improvements you can make in better 60 foot times will follow all the way down the track!!! If you wanna cheat you could also strap down the front end.

Have a friend video your launch, body position during run and total run several times. Look for improvements, consistent passes. Make yourself better, then start dialing the bike in.

thanks for the pro tips, i will try it soon

Sunny, I improved my launch reaction times and 60 foot times by starting my launch on the second yellow, putting my feet up on the pegs instantly (actually just a split second before letting the clutch out) and don't hold to the rev limiter. To much lost time waiting for the revs to climb. Shift about 500 rpm before the limit. Race gas doesn't really help. Save your money on that. Get the bikes weight down. If you can get another 50 or even 100 lbs off, it helps.

hello all,
@stingray @turbotom1052 @Idaho Red Rocket 3 @Gerald
I went to dragstrip again yesterday, I couldnt make past 10.4s. I think I must strap front shocks and make rear shocks tight as much as possible.

I removed mirrors before doing runs,
I reduced rear tire gradually to finally 25psi
i reduced the weight below the seat

I was doing constantly 10.5, 10.6 and so on, best was 10.45, check the photos

Where can I get the straps and which ones are the best, how to put on rocket?
How do I setup rear shock so that it becomes harder?

Thankyou

You might try Pingel Enterprises for the front end straps. Sunny ... based on the slips that you posted I will say that you will need to take a full 2 tenths off of your 60 foot time to even have a chance of running 9.99. Notice how your quickest ET also had your best 60 foot time!!! This is no accident. Hard leaving 60 footers follow you all the way down the track and set you up for the best 1/4 mile timeslips. Even knocking off a full 2 tenths on your 60ft times, you will need to hit every shift point spot on, and find a way to crawl under your paint. Also remember that the handlebars are pretty wide on a Rocket which leave your elbows way out there in dirty air. You might try tucking in your right elbow as much as you can, and then once your situated on the bike and have gotten though through a shift into third gear you might try grabbing the handlebar with your left hand closer to the handlebar clamp so as to make yourself more streamlined. You could also consider mounting a GT fly screen onto your R so that you can more easily reduce the drag of your helmet. Lastly you could try editing Penners map so that your TBW settings restrict full throttle opening in 1st gear. In doing this you might be able to leave the starting line considerably harder and avoid lifting the front wheel up so high that you have to ease off the throttle.
