Engine Vibration continues

Yes, Scott is a great guy and a real asset to this forum. I've read you loose a little HP through angle cut gears.

i would agree that u lose a little hp.
when building auto trans for racing they machine parts and add thorington bearings in the converters to make the parts turn easier against that thrust i do the same with the gears on a racing trans.

Wow! lot's of attention to this thread. After all the reading, on my 60 mile ride yesterday, cruising sometimes at 80/90, and everywhere in-between, slightly pulling in the clutch makes no difference, AT ALL. My problem is not so much a vibration, (though it is), but a BUZZZZ in the handlebars and foot pegs. Came on all at once, and never got worse, or better. It seems related to rpm. Heck it might just be as simple as a wheel bearing. I've got 4 motorcycles, a race car, and a new Jeep, along with all my radio controlled flying machines, so my attention is always going from one thing to another. If nothing gets worse, next tire change, (no time soon), I'll give the wheel bearings a good look see. There does seem to be a slight difference when going from straight, to leaning left, or right.

when my metzer tire started to cup on the front turning left or right it rumble/buzz (for lack of a better word) my first though was a bad bearing. when i changed tires that went away.

Tires can do that for sure. I just got too many irons in the fire right now. Just got done putting a brand new electric water pump on my Mustang race car, and the SOB is leaking !!!!

BUGGER..... after a fair few bikes over the years and then a rocket, then thunderbird and now back to a 2010 built (2011 model apparently)roadster I was happy....... I've seen this thread occasionally and haven't worried about it, then a mate was telling me nothing is as smoothly as triples and five cylinder engines. I told him mine wasn't that smooth. Coincidentally the next time I dropped in here this thread was up again.

Mine has the very slight vibration/rattle at idle that I actually did notice that went away when the clutch was slightly pressed. I was happy about that thinking that it's a good sign the cable has some slack in it. If you open up the throttle through the gears hard I don't notice the vibration, to busy hanging on I guess but I have always short shifted and stay between 2200 and 3000rpm just riding normally because the the buzzing through the foot pegs, handle bars and mirrors is annoying over that.

I never thought to pull on the clutch lever to see if it smooth it out while riding before but sure enough on the last ride I had plenty of time to check it out and it did. It's a constant buzz from idle that builds to a vibration from 3000rpm.

I've read the whole thread and understand that some have it, some don't and at the moment there is no fix BUT is it going to be a reliability problem down the track. I really want to hang onto this one but I like things right.

I have 24000 km on my 2011 Roadster and the vibration does not seem to be any worse. In one of my very early post i said i noticed the exact same vibration on the 3 2010 Roadsters i test rode before purchasing.

In my Roadster the vibration comes in a 2200 RPM then disappears at 2400 RPM to 2500 RPM then comes back in and 2600 RPM stays. The slightest pressure on the clutch lever and the vibration disappears.

Like everyone else i love the bike but would love to get rid of the vibration.

Wow reading all of this on the vibration, not sure if I feel better or worse now about my 2016 R3. One thing I love about the bike is its pull. Went on short trip last night, all was fine and then I feel a vibration in my seat and throughout bike. This was halfway through the trip so something happened right then. Stop to inspect & determined it was an internal engine issue. I have reved my bike sitting stills many times (Not hard) and I did that last night and it vibrated a lot and could feel it in the seat mostly. Heck I only have 1,300 miles on it. So I canceled the trip and turned around, did not want to be stuck on the road somewhere.

So now I am reading many possibilities; I know it is not the tires, it happens sitting still. Engine sounds solid at an idle, not a fuel or spark issue. Just feels like a weight came off something that helped in higher speeds. I would be surprised if it was the clutch, this was not gradual, it was good one mile marker and bad the next.

Bought it in Jan of this year from Florida, live in IL. I am sure the triumph dealer here will be reluctant to do warranty work even if it is a warranty issue, not sure how to find that out. Well, I just put dressers bars (front and back) windshield, viking saddlebags, backrest, cruise control and LED lighting. Now I am thinking of getting rid of it, it has lost its amazing pull.

WOW! Not to be disrespectful but it just amazes me how people now days just throw in the towel so easily.
Take it in and file a warranty. Go home & have some beers. Relax. This too shall pass ;)
