The bearing you put the arrow on is currently open to the transmission. That is the early design. They didn't get enough "splash" oil from the trans and would fail. Not sure what year, but they started putting a double sealed bearing in that spot. I've never heard of a double sealed bearing on gear end. It's supposed to be sealed on the side facing the gear, and open on the end that slips into the case. There is a hole there that feeds it oil. Some early rockets had that bearing installed backwards with the sealed end towards the case which effectively isolated it from it's oil supply.

I think the engine is an 04, someone painted it black. At this stage it's only a spare engine as i have bought another with some front end damage & that's an 05. If i put the 04 engine into anything I will take another look & change as i have a brand new torsion upgrade kit with bearings & case but was thinking of checking one of my other rockets with that.

May want to change oil seal as well in torsional damper, they leak.
