Best place to ride in the U.S.?

I know there are more experienced riders on here that can offer advice, but I will let you know my thoughts. There is great riding close to Sturgis with Black Hills, Spearfish Canyon and Badlands national park. I think Utah is awesome, but might be really hot in August. I love riding thru forests and hills/mountains with rivers and streams, so I would do the Rocky Mountains. Google Maps says beartooth pass is only 6 hours from Sturgis, never been, but heard its awesome. Yellowstone national park, grand Tetons national park, Rocky Mountain national park are all awesome. I'm sure other rocket captains know the best roads and how to avoid the large crowds, I really don't think there is a wrong way to go, it kind of depends on what you want to see and what kind of riding you like doing.
Good advice @CamaroCarl ....im with you, riding in the heat is not so appealing......Rocky Mountains and Yellowstone are on my bucket list.

Well, we'll all fond of our own backyard romps, but you really should look into the TN, NC, VA area for twisty back road fun and southern hospitality. If you do come our way, please let us know and we'll be glad to give you a "quick" tour.
@Journeyman28778 , your southern hospitality is well known....it is a kind offer, and one I will be seriously considering!

All up and down the rocky mountain chain from New Mexico to Montana is some of the best riding and will give you a difference in vistas in scenery than what you’re used to down in Oz. I particularly like the Wyoming Idaho Montana area up through glacier national Park. But it really depends on the time of year you’re coming because you do not want to drive through that area in the winter on a two wheel motorcycle. If you’re visiting the east coast area, the New England states have some really great riding up through New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine. And northeastern New York along the St. Lawrence seaway and thousand Island’s area is very pretty and memorable. And if you’re up for it, try to ride up Mount Washington.

A great list of suggestions....I've been toying with the idea of a 6 month Visa, (will need it, to see a lot) but that will have to wait a few years until retirement......your right about the variance in Vistas from Oz...i have been to your country before (not riding) both a beautiful in their own way...the remoteness of our interior and the uniqueness of our coastal zones....we have a large country (like yours) with no one in it!

I prefer the Ozarks. The eastern side of the country is much greener and has much better scenery IMHO.

Obviously, my brother, you have not ridden the Pacific NW.
I also like the Ozarks a lot, but for the twisties more than the scenery.

Well yes the east is green and the west is rock. But you can only ride a motorcycle on a paved road to 14.110 feet above sea level in Colorado.

Actually higher is possible . . . Mt. Evans 14,265' and not very far away.

For sure.....all advice is encouraged and welcome @1olbull

Let me know where/what you are interested in riding/seeing.
Hard to beat CA for a bit of everything.
Mountains, twisties, scenery, great ocean coast, Death Valley & Vegas not too far. Could be done justice in 3 weeks.
