Be aware of speed ratings. I just bought Avon Cobra front (150) and Ex Max for the rear (240/55) and am well happy with the combo. But please notice the Avon is available in different speed rating. It's not just the size and price you need to be looking at.

Time for new shoes already. Put 5K on since I got the bike in May.

I've got a thing about wanting front and rear tire to match, and am not going to go darkside, so that leaves me with those options.

I've never had Avons. I've had Metzlers on my 'zuki and wasn't overly impressed, especially for the money. Sure wish Shinko or Kendra made a 240/50 - 16.

Between those two though, what's the general consensus on the forum?

If I had not experienced it I would never have believed it. I changed to Avon’s and the extra confidence these give is amazing. There is no choice...Avon’s

Not lately. Been working like a dog. Got off early tonight. Drinking some beers and looking forward to a couple days off. Been getting about three to four hours sleep a night or morning and heading out again for work. Been at it for the last three weeks. So jacked up from working all the time figured get good and drunk and crash for a day.:whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling:

Avon's flat suck. Hard take offs they spin. Cold weather they have no traction. Wear is not much better than stock tires. Nice name on sidewall and that's about it.

Are you really serious???
Exedra Max all the way!
Not on the front though. I could only find two tyres the right size AND speed rating. Avon and Metz. And the Avon Cobra is available in two variants for that size.

I have a exedra max on the rear and a shinco tire on the front seems to do pretty good so far

Not sure why a few people here and there have issues with the Avon grip as Sonny did. I found the rear to be phenomenal and the front great except when cold and wet, like 40f and below.

It has a sharper profile than the stone so initiating turns is slightly lighter. The Emax lasts much longer though.
