BIKE LIFT DIY SCREW TYPE LIKE

I'll be watching intently. My dad just bought a big blue for his Goldwing, so I can get an up-close look at it when I'm over there, or ask for info. I've been wanting to do this for awhile, but just haven't wanted to pull the trigger on parts. I know the jack screw and bearing/nut for it are...

    Bike not running

Pull the fuses and look down in the plastic "fuse box" Sometimes the spade terminals get hot over time when excess current runs through them and the plastic melts either insulating or causing the terminal to back out and not make good contact with the fuse, causing an open circuit.

Momentary voltage drop? / check engine light

If you tried to start with a dead battery and it failed, it will sometimes set the CEL. That particular code will usually clear itself after a few successful startups (I believe it's 3 good cycles). Sometimes it won't though. Worst case, if you can't get ahold of a reader, disconnect the battery...

No spark at all three coils

That looks low for the battery. The ECU is very particular with the voltage it likes to see. Is the engine cranking over when you hit the start button, just not firing? Also the low tension side of the coils (spade terminals) are prone to "opening up" or spreading just enough to make bad...

Momentary voltage drop? / check engine light

Check the condition of the voltage regulator wiring and the connections. May be loose or dirty / wet at the connector causing it to be intermittent and the light to come and go.

Relocating Coolant Tank - Left side details

That's why everyone removes it. Not needed and it opens up that side cover area for other things. Could be horn, voltage regulator, or in your case NOT THOSE things, so you could place your overflow bottle in there. Step 1) Remove EVAP cannister. Step 2) Remove overflow bottle. (Steps 1 and 2...

    winter handguards for 06

I ride year-round and found with my first set of battery gloves (most are lithium nowadays), when I REALLY needed them (sub 20* temps) they didn't work/shut off. Called Gerbing and they said, "Yeah they're not meant to be used that low". WTF? You can also try adjusting your Barkbuster a little...

    Changing out bars

These are about the tallest I think you can get away with w/out changing cables (and even then I re-routed to get a little extra slack). The same T-Bars mentioned/pictured above. https://www.r3owners.net/threads/custom-t-bars.36881/page-3

Destinations / must see roads and stops

The Harley had a trailer that was too heavy and pushed him wide in a turn. He was riding it out in the talcum powder type dirt/sand and was bringing it back on the road when he came upon a big culvert. Dropped down and the trailer pushed him hard into the other side. Bent up the trailer hitch...

Destinations / must see roads and stops

It's been awhile, so my route memory may be slightly off. The total distance covered was around 5300 miles, and included 20 or so states...can't remember because some were literally, crossing the border, taking a pic of the welcome sign and then heading back on our way, including hitting 4...
