your feedback on used rockets.

I was looking at a 2009 until I found out the motor number was 336622, which is before the corrected or "updated" builds. The corrections were supposed to have been made by 2009, so it shows you have to be careful....as they apparently had a number of earlier motors in stock use in later builds.

Jack , Welcome .. i have a 2007 plated Standard i bought new in 2009. Done 125,000 klms on it since then.. love the bike. The 2008 model will have you smiling just like i do when i ride mine. Can't go wrong.

I have traded in a Vulcan 2000 as well to get my Rocket, just half a year ago. Really, there aren't many options left for a further upgrade, if you already drive such a great beast. Only a Rocket will make you forget a V2K.

650 miles, go for it. not all the bikes were affected. that said the update kit installation can cost up to 2500. My 06 will be getting the treatment and for the $$$ saved buying new I think i'm still ahead, +1 if any acc's you wanted are already on.

Folks, I just got "straight" on the motors with and without the updated fixes. It's not the motor number, but the last 6 digits of the VIN. They have to above 337294. The 2009 bikes I've looked at are all above that number, so the final "fix" occurred before that.

Correct.

My 08 is a 02/08 build and it is well above that as well so I am guessing it mid 07's is when all the fixes were done
