Will my R3T leave a HD V-Rod Muscle in the dust?

The chart showing the V-Rod beating the Rocket was with a 2010 Rocket. Triumph eliminated the restrictions in the first 3 gears on Rockets around 2013 and I think the top end limiter as well. A post 2013 Roadster would smoke a V-Rod imo.

Possibly with the exception of the Touring...though that can be overcome with the right tune! But festooned with it's touring equipment it still might be a little bit limited, aerodynamically at least.

You remember it better than me. But I remember seeing it and being unsurprised.My R3 was a bit wooly in bends when new.

The last 7 years and I've seen how really minor changes to an R3 make it radically more manageable - but I don't know how much the tyre factor plays on the T's. Putting a 140/80 on the front of my standard made a huge difference for example. The 150/70 on now is good too. WAY better than the 150/80Metz. And an EMax adds more benefit. Add decent shocks/forks and 90% of the world be quicker on the road without engine mods - More torque/Power would then be icing on the cake.

Now if the test were V-ROD vs Millennium Falcon - then R3 wins.

HaHaHa I bought a Kenworth T2000 that I call the Millennium Falcon , 600hp ,clears paperwork off the dashboard when you resume the cruise control after a slowdown

On a locomotive torque is what spins the wheels and burns the rail....weight is what provides the traction so that torque can be put to use.

That is why I call my wife "Traction" without her on the back on launch the tire tends to loose traction and burn the rails...

Not the top end limiter but easy enough to do. Yes I had to laugh when I saw the reported quarter mile run times for the Rocket Roadster. With the new tune installed on a completely stock 2015 Rocket X (no ramair or three into one exhaust) I can easily smoke that time and the V-Rods time. Looking forward to upgrades on the suspension and then a decent three into one exhaust (Paul's) and ramair.

Kind of an odd question to start with being two different purpose built bikes. The video was the r3r and it looked pretty tricky to launch, the tranny on my 06 would just pop into neutral if I gave it the beans in 1st so I really couldn't open it up til around 3k in 2nd gear, probably saved me from myself. Harleys are beginners bikes and finding someone who could launch one like we watched in the video would probably own something else anyhow. I automatically give the tie breaker to the rocket captain for having actual riding experience.

Me thinks a R3R with intake, exhaust & tune would have no problema smokin' the V-Rod Muscle!

I dyno'd my rocket x completly stock at 148rwhp, and 183 rwtrq, did they tune the x at factory?

The tech can tweak ambient conditions to make the dyno read higher or than lower than actual from what i've gathered reading the experts post on this forum. I would expect a modern dyno to have the necessary hardware to tell actual temp barometric pressure and whatever other variables it needs to calculate comparable data but those numbers look optimistic as that's better than Triumph claims at the crankshaft before losing 10-15% to drive trane.

@Neville Lush has posted a reliable dyno chart some time ago, showing the results of dynoing a completely stock R3R without any hardware changes. I think it was around 130 rwhp and a beautiful curve, compared to 120 before tuning.
I can hardly imagine any Roadster beating that mark in stock condition, because they all have that software bump at the top, and the max horsepower is being cut off.

That is real close to where I have my stock Rocket X tuned.

Yup, my touring is even longer than a Roadster, it will only lift the fron nwheel with a pillion, otherwise it spins the wheel. But I've held the front end off the ground up to at least 100 with a pillion.
