Who's Rocket is this?


Hello, my name is Steve, and I am a HOON!
I have wrestled with going beyond the 200 RWHP for 5 years.
My stock engine with RamAir, CES & a super tuner (Nels Byersdorf) gives me 160 RWHP and runs so darn well I get most of what I need.
I just can not get off the fence and pull the trigger.
However, the itch for 225 or more RWHP to enjoy fun with the occasional highway pulls versus other bikes or drag racing stays with me . . .
Twas after I got this motor in 2012 that this aggrivating itch began, but I reckoned it would dissipate after some easy mods considering my age was already pretty much up there.
So far, at 71.5 years, that damm itch remains and I'm still waiting to grow up!

PS: I think mine has one of the best sounds of the Rockets I've heard . . . you'll hear it at RAA East in May.
 
200 hp and still want more when does it stop lol
So what’s the difference between cams or hot cams?
 
This is a big advertisement for Amzoil, and amid the 18'39" there is a good discussion of the complexities of camshaft changes.

Just remember, in all of these discussions, it's not nice to fool Mother Nature (it's PHYSICS, son!) and TNSTAAFL !

As I recall, @Trirocket3 has over 300 - and if you have to ask how much, you can't afford it.

We don't see him so much these days -- he has been good to this community - a number of us have benefited directly from his personal connection with PreTech and installing 6-piston calipers.
 
Hello Steve, I’ve noticed your post and completely love them. I’m just a “baby” HOON at 58 years of immaturity.
I’ve spent money on all kinds of Harley’s and now Indians trying to make them fast. What a joke right? Now this Rocket is already fast but this is where the real fast is. I took out my Indian Roadmaster, with stage one and two(cams) and a tuner the other day and it felt weak after the last few weeks on the R3.
It is excruciating for me to wait till May to do any mods but I want to see your bike and hear it along with the other guys to decide what is right for me.
I’ve already prepared the wife for the money outlay so it’s just what and when for me. See you there my fellow HOON.
 
One more thing 1olbull, you better not back out on the event. At your age I’m hoping you don’t “pass on” before then either.. Oops one devil got in there.

WOW, I just realized that "a polk" now seems to be something entirely different than what it was even ten years ago!!!
