When there's hearsay quoted from folks who haven't been turning a wrench for 30yrs quoting some bull**** they heard from some who-knows-what from who-knows-where about something they know absolutely nothing about other than what some jackass on the internet told them .... gets my goat. A ten year old can call himself tooblazinfastforwhatevertirefire2.1 and get on the site saying all kinds of nonsense ... someone will listen. If there is ever a third R3 site that requires in-depth credientials ... I'm all over it!
I wouldn't be suprised if there weren't at least a few on this site who are not only under age, but also without a bike typing crap like they know what the ****. I might even know who they are. cya manyana phil.

Well Hellfire I think your off base and if you’re trying to bash a friend of mine who by the way has at least 35 more years on this planet then the 30 years of wrench turning your talking about I would just wish you would calm down a bit before you make yourself out to be one angry man!! It is obvious who you are trying to insult people and it is in fact making you look like the 10 year old you were referring to. I know this is not what you want to hear and I am guilty of letting my alligator mouth overload my humming bird ass more times than I care to remember or realize. But if a thing Art says is flat out wrong in your eyes then well some of my other friends who agree with him like Wayne Tripp are not going to post information people can learn from here either. This does nothing but hurt the chance of others to gain knowledge and possibly find out what is wrong with their machines. I am ok with just reading and keeping my mouth shut and not passing on any information I have learned. I must start doing that as this is definitely getting nowhere fast. I have been running machinery since 1976 and this is not an advertisement of my age for I am the son of a Tool Maker who was the son of a Tool Maker and might have some mechanical background in my years 26 years of building weaponry for the military which ended in 1994. So again I must say your hostility reminds me of some little man on the .com site who can't seem to figure out what avatar name he wants to be at any given time. This is not becoming of you and I am sure after you calm down you are a reasonable man and will figure things out. For any part I had in upsetting you I am truly sorry as it does not matter to me if you run a flat tire on your bike as long as your bike makes you happy. Now I am done with my rant for life is too short to listen to you rant. If Phil gets his bike with car tire on it on the dyno and finds Art to be right or wrong I have learned and that’s my goal and if Art is wrong which after talking to a half dozen dyno techniciansI believe he is right then I will still have learned what I was trying to learn.
Now Art I know I have been stubborn and have ignored what you have been telling me which is “Why am I wasting my time trying to help people that just don’t appreciate a group of knowledgeable people working together.” But you must remember not everyone on this site is like this. Where you guys get off throwing out insults like that expecting no response blows me away. Surely you read what you write, I do. This was a discussion about tires, the choice of car tires was attacked with an incorrect 20hp reduction statement, along with poor handling, poor traction and then of all things .... width and diameter statements that are TOTALLY wrong. Do what you want, say what you want, but comments like "taller, narrower tires get better traction" is just WRONG. Defend your "friend" all you want, doesn't make the statement any more right. One dumb statement like that and forever the discussion like it's real. OMG
I'm guilty of escalating this, but no more than you. So don't you dare put this on me, I just tried to right a wrong here. I've been dickin' around with gear ratio's, dyno's, racing and **** for years .... the only **** thing that makes a tire alter numbers is diameter. And that is purely due to gear ratio's and spin weight. PERIOD.
I am so tired of this .... just ****in' forget I was even here.

In fact, ... play amongst yourselvs .... I need a break from this nonsense, trade all the bogus info you want.

Just wondering if anyone has done a conversion from a 240 rear tyre to anthing larger like 300 or even 330..? I have been looking at forums all over the world and there has been nothing yet.. Hope someone could help us out.. Thanks peeps..

Sorry Carl, I did not mean to indicate that YOU made the comment..."but...but....but...you'll die". That was a quote from another site (three actually) and I apologise profusely if it has caused you grief as people have accredited it to you.

I also didn't think your email was in any way shape or form inflamatory. I just wanted to get some of the oft quoted myths laid to rest before things got heated. Geeeee, that worked well didn't it :eek:
