What has Triumph done to lower power in tour compared to classic?

can anyone absolutely confirm that you can definitely get the same out of touring as a roadster. i see no reason why not but just need confirmation.

thinking of getting another bike to leave setup as a tourer and am not sure i want to go HD Ultra. If i can get a touring going right id be tempted.

Yes Ponters you can get the same monster power or enough to make it like a Standard/Classic/Roadster out of the touring. Its all ECU mapping and of course the other goodies like pipes and intake.

But don't forget on the R3T you have the smaller rear wheel and it might not be rated good enough to go that fast.

The 180 has been holding up and gripping on the stage 1 R3T Carpenter bikes you could probably squeeze a 200 under there.

Agreed a CT has more reciprocating weight but perhaps more reason to go darkside. I am still often getting spooked by loss of traction on the new R3R (that has of course an infamous Mezzler on it). There is no comparison with respect to the traction between it and my standard with a 245 Falcon. Trying to get the Mezz to hook up is very difficult. Almost impossible to get the front wheel up without breaking it loose. Of course, we are all creatures of habit. But, I can't get used to the Mezz even though I have put close to 4K on it. It is wearing though and looking forward to changing it out for a new "proper" tire .

Yes, check GPMAZ sig line hes getting over 140 Hp/tourqe from a touring with triple K&Ns and Jardines.

It would be very interesting to look at the camshaft specs on ALL year models of the R3's from start to present. Triumph claims the touring camshaft is the same grind as the roadster. I wonder. If I remember correctly, my dealer looked up the part numbers and states the R3T and the R3R cams used a different part number,,,,,?
