What do I do ?????

I don't think the CES muffler would be any higher at the end than stock Roadster pipes.

Well, BRUCE, that IS the issue. Those humongous abortions are angled up way too high and interfere with anything but puny panniers.
I have gotten like over 100 mm lower with my current single muffler set up and hope to do the same with the CES.

@1olbull I had to lower my mufflers - just for the look but also in case I wanted to use panniers. They did kick up too much from the start. Took the bike to a good welder, got him to cut the pipe on the muffler itself rear of the join with the headers and put in a straighter piece. Then he welded in a plate to the top of the mounting tab to extend the bracket. The top of the muffler runs parallel to the side cover pretty much as Bruce's and Morris' do but because of the tapered shape of my cans the inside pipe actually runs more level with the ground. Simple and cheap. Guess what I'm saying is that it's not a major exercise to reposition the muffler rather than trying to work out how you might want to change the angles on the headers.

I'm not running heat shields now, but I will be as soon as I can get home and build some. The heat in heavy traffic is bearable but not pleasant. Having said that I love the pipes

Richard,
I remember you saying this so I spoke (email) with Trevor at CES about it. He said no problema in lowering the header a tad so the can can :) come out at the rear axle. I also have just learned from @R3Tex that his new CES do this as well. Soon as I decide whether I want their slash cut can or to order one of my own I shall be plunking down the do-re-me for a set.
