The Mushroom heads can be removed with a stud remover/screw remover by drilling the hex head big enough to get a grip with the screw extractor. The easiest way to get the studs off the header flanges after they have come out of the block is to cut off and replace and start with nice clean threads.

Back to the rear wheel now, I started cleaning it a few days ago. Holy built up road grime and oxidation Batman. I started with a heavy duty degreaser and wore myself out. Over the next couple of days, I got down to sand paper but that dang brake disk kept thwarting my efforts. I just could not loosen the T40 screws with a screw driver.
I finally broke down and bought a 1/4" drive socket and an adapter to use the tire bits.
The torx bits that comes with the adaptor though must be made of plastic as seen 8n thus picture.

I had to use a cheater but did get them all out eventually using an old T40 bit I had laying around.

But then the disk said F-off I'm staying put. Out comes the rubber mallet.

Now I can get to the rest of the cleaning better and maybe even decide to get the rims powder coated.

Looking good 0000 thats 4 steel wool will help there boog, and polish with but not needed, just work it, 4 wont scratch, or 300 400 500 you get the picture to 2000 probably and it will shine, no more coating but its ruined anyway my friend but they can be shiney if you want shiney, then coat with wax and ride so fresh and so clean, i did the rear the front and bottom fork legs took 3 months but they shine now, trust they are bad right now i just took off and have not washed and wiped a little, thats really all it takes now but i dont let get dirty dirty or atleast dont let it stay on, i know your deal is different but a good spray cleaner and should stay clean, bad part, hours of labor i mean hours of rub on rub off

I had to start at 200 grit sandpaper and work my way back to this. They have held up up very well.
