Well I ordered an Exedra Max Rear tire this morning along with Motion Pro's Tire bead breaker/lever tool set and some rim protectors and balance weights from Rocky Mountain ATV. They should be here tomorrow.
In the meantime I rode over to Harbor Freight and got me a tire balancer. Fit right nice in the saddle bag.
Now I'm going to try something that I swore I'd never do again. Change my own tire again. (last time was about 1985). Got all the tools for the same cost as I paid to have the last tire changed on my Kawasaki Vulcan 88.

What's the best thing to use to lube the splines? I'm sure I read something about that somewhere on here. Going to search for that.
I watched the Youtube vids of removing the wheel and some tire stuff for the Rocket Touring (same year as I've got, even) so at least I'm not going in blind.
It's supposed to rain for the next five or six days, so though it would be a good time to hunker down in the garage. Still working on cutting out the spare bearclaw for the RamAir display, too.
Then I think I'll be done messing with the Rocket for awhile. I said that two weeks ago.
Ride-on or Dyna-beads? I have Ride-on in now, but could be messy...I'll find out. Still going to use the weights, though.
