water dispersant for screen/visors

Guess it would help if I used the right name and not what I call it hey?

https://www.mcnett.com/m-essentials/anti-fog

Almost all specialist scuba shops sell it.
The best M/C VISOR anti fog solution I've seen is PINLOCK inserts. Basically double-glazing.
It also absorbs light amounts of vapour. Anti fog coatings simply stop the vapour collecting - the water is till there though.

@TOMCAT

I promise this had NO influence on my order of the product!
She is who I talked to on the phone.

I will take a 44gallon drum of it thank you:sneaky::sneaky:

Fogs not really the problem .. problem is rain drops not f#ckin off my screen .. riding with a Shark full-face so I won't put anything on the visor (thanks Hanso). What's the name of the stuff you put on the windscreen of your car Ponters .. not your midget submarine , private aircraft or your space shuttle... just your car.

The best plastics polish (with light hydroscopic properties) I've found is PLEXUS. I use it on all screens and visors.
I was put onto it by a guy who restored/maintained aircraft. It does NOT leave a film on the surface like Rain-X. ime DUST sticks to RainX.
I rode 450kms at 145kph non stop in a huge weather front that covered Spain at end April, and ne'er a droplet in my vision (OK except one that found it's way through the vents onto the inside) - Plexus protected.

The other option - but is trickier to find the correct mix is to find a PLASTICS specific Nano-coating.
Most are for GLASS and they are not the same.
One example http://percenta-nanoproducts.com/product/nano-coating-for-plastic/
This basically puts a molecular thin HARD skin of Titanium and Silicon oxides on the surface.
I have used this type of solution in the past - my experience was positive - but you will need to retreat more than you'd expect. I think vibration is an enemy of this solution tbh. The TiO2 is basically a catalyst so resists biological infestations once the sun hits it. i.e kills any bug residue.

Nano coatings are very good if you get lots of light rain which means you get dirt on the screen/visor. It basically reinforces anti-scratch.
Polishes in general fill any existing scratches. Nano's in theory do as well but imo not AS well as basic polish.

I agree. Plexus is a decent product but I have used much better. Your experience with nano coating is very common however the product I am referring to is very unique. Application is extremely easy and longevity is brilliant.

I have the double layer which I find very effective for fog but not completely perfect. Certainly a great option though.

It's called Diamond fusion. http://www.dfisolutions.com/surfaces-we-improve/automotive/

Really is great stuff and works better than the website suggests.

Mate of mine is the Australasian distributor so he is getting me some pricing.

Also, he does have a nano product that I'll be getting samples of for our visors. It is designed for PLASTICS and is packaged as a wet wipe so easy to keep in a pocket and simply wipes on and leaves no residue. Can store it in your pocket for 12 months and 1 wipe will do 8 - 9 helmets.

I should have a few to send out to you guys as a sample and depending on how we find it we'll think about doing a group buy maybe.

Found this in the DFI FAQ
Why is Diamon-Fusion® not applicable on plastics or metals? -The molecules of plastics and metals do not contain silicon dioxide (silica), which is required for the molecular bond of our protective coatings to occur.

Spain's a bit far away for me to plead samples of the plastic specific nano - A link will suffice for me to rampage through Europe. It'll almost certainly mean dealing with Germany.

btw there are one or two nano products that will coincidentally hide fingerprints well if you're thinking of doing any safe-cracking.

Going off track - what have you seen that works well on Granite, Bricks and cement?.

Sounds interesting, any idea when you may be getting these? Would you be able/willing to slip one in an envelope destined to the opposite side of the planet? :whitstling:

A good quality spray furniture polish of any brand will work. Pledge is one brand. In Aus they obviously wold have something similar under a different name. We have "Mr Min" here also.
Yeah we have "Mr Sheen" which is alright but that is all

The absolute world leader in solid surface coatings Concrete etc, is GuardIt Solutions. The only non solvent, water based, food grade sealer in the world and out performs anything else. The only thing that gets close is a German product but it is a 2pk, difficult to apply, very dependant on thermal and moisture conditions and limited application once mixed. GuardIt is easy and safe for a child to apply.

If you are interested in further details send me a PM as my family owns the global patents for it.
