The Marathon ME880 tire is garbage. only tracked 5000 easy miles on it. Except the last 100miles. I was riding over 100mph for over 2 hours. (Im guessing i got them tires nice and hot) And took one exit ramp. probably going about 40mph. completely raped the soft rubbers.

Marathons ME880 at only 5k miles. the tire is shot. 1hr of 100+mph 2hrs of 80+mph. One exit...

first 5k miles. already having some issues.

I went off metzlers about 3 year ago on my other cruisers had nothing but trouble with them.

Five Thou - that's 8000kms - Got 7700-ish out of mine - BOTH front and Back.

Only got 3500 miles from my original Metz.

Sounds about right. I got just over 5,000 miles on the OEM tyre. After that I got 20-30,000 out of a rear tyre.

Several different brands over the next 130,000 miles. Goodyear, Yokohama, etc. . .

Same here. Blew mine out at 3500, then a trip to the Talihina trail and melted the front metzler! Not even 5k on the front!
