I really think temperature has a lot to do with tire life...

Up north with mild ambient temps and relatively cool blacktop, my rear Metzler lasted around 13,500 kms and the front around 15,000 but it was badly cupped. I was pretty hard on the rear tire having fun leaving black strips on the pavement in front of the Harleys. None of them could.

My 2nd rear tire, an Exedra 852 was replaced while I was on the road crossing Canada several thousand kms from home with around 14,000 kms on it. There was still a lot of life in that tire but I had planned the tire change in Edmonton expecting it to be finished (paid up front for the tire) so I was caught. Never expected it to be so good. The front Bridgy 707 I installed is still on the bike with 25,000 kms on it. No cupping what so ever. I have a Battlecruse H50 ready to install but sadly the snow has hit so will wait till spring.

My 3rd rear tire was an OEM Metzler which was installed last summer in Edmonton Alberta when the dealer screwed up the installation of an Excedra Max I had ordered from them. They cut the tire bead during the installation but was good enough to put a Metzler they had in stock back on at their expense (tire was $150 more). It has 13,000 kms on it with maybe 3000 kms left, which is quite a bit more than the original that came with the bike. But the riding I do is in relatively cool temps. Rarely does it get over 80 degrees F.
