(Urgent) Bevel box/diff cap weeping - please help

Looks like the part is available from Bike Bandit and fits all models. I agree that the breather is probably the culprit. Never had mine off so not sure how it is secured to the housing....press fit or threaded in. Keep us posted.

Please Note:
Triumph parts will take longer than BikeBandit.com's stated average shipping times due to delayed deliveries from the manufacturer. Please allow up to 10 business days for shipment.

I got to ask if you filled it recently and maybe sun the rear while doing it allowing the thick cold oil to coat the gears which did not run down and you kept filling until it was a wee bit over full. So obviously she is venting which tell me the vent cap is working. I would lean that way first verses freaking out. They do not take much oil therefore it will not take much to over fill it. I will wait for you to check that before adding anything else that just might worry you when not needed.

+ what Warp said. Clean it up, and maybe tie a little piece of rag around the vent, and ride it some, to see what's going on. I had 2 differentials changed out for leaks, but they were seeping out the square opening on the bottom of the diff plastic cover.

Certainly shouldn't be overfilled.. When it started, it had been back from a major service for over a month and I'd ridden it daily since.. I changed out the oil and made sure to fill it to the bottom of the filler hole, and rode it for 4 days without a leak in sight.. Then all of a sudden it started again..

Surely if it was an overfilling issue it'd have started to leak right away, no??

OK more information for me to consider or I missed it on your first post.

Ok your first post said nothing about being in the shop for major service can I ask what was the major service?

Oh, right! I thought you meant the fill level bit, my apologies.

32k service

Also had 2nd and 4th gear replaced due to them being worn - which was expensive as hell

If it were me I would pop the bevel box out and see if you have any oil in the swing frame tube? I am not sure if the breather has any filter in it to catch debris or oil if it was laid on the shelf full for a while that might have soaked up oil but it does not sound like it since you said you rode it for a while. I have seen the seal in the bevel box go and oil travel up into the swing frame tube. I also have seen the rear seal on the torsional damper go and get filled with engine oil, but that was prior to the rear bearing in it being sealed and filled with grease pre-Roadster. I have like I said rotated the gear while filling it and with the oil being thick it coated everything up top and after I got done and closed her up she was over filled which came out the breather. I made a note to never rotate the wheel while draining and filling the bevel box and never had the problem again. I usually change mine every oil change or every other oil change or you'll have a partial liter bottle on the shelf for years :)
