Update...broke down yet again

The way Triumph stacks the electrical connections at the battery causes some corrosion to form between them as they loosen. I had the problem. Take a wire brush and clean both sides of each spade and coat with di-electric grease before reassembling. When you have them tight, go another half turn. Then another half turn if they loosen again. I thought the bolt would break the last time I tightened them. But once I had my battery terminals dogpoop tight I quit having all sorts of problems.
Whats different today than yesterday is it was dead yesterday. No horn, hazards, immobilizer light, accessories, nothing....
Today when the button is pressed upwards it lights the dash and primes the fuel pump. Then I press the starter and all blank, nothing.
Then I'll turn off my keyfob then turn on again, hit accessories on the starter then I stand back as it flickers on and off with all sorts of buzzes and noises from below the fuel tank and at the rear of the bike. Its literally like a disco nightclub going on off on off on off on off all within split seconds. Yet when it does crank over its not even a lazy crank. It cranks and starts like a brand new battery. I'm thinking my bike may be possessed!!!

Shouldn't pressing up on the switch only bring up the welcome screen? Then down to mid position primes the injectors and bring up operating screen, and toggle down again for starter engagement.

Possibly. I'm too tired and angry to make sense of anything at the moment. Yes, after the welcome screen, the next position brings the priming. Thats as far as it gets now before it goes into full psycho seizure fart-and-buzzing mode!

There is an electrical fitting under the tank on top of the motor which has a bunch of wires going in and coming out. When removing the tank, this plug is pulled apart so as the tank can be removed. Maybe that's not making good contact?. In order to check, the strap over the centre of the tank has to be removed and you can then lift the front of the tank. Be careful tho as there is a breather pipe on the right front...just lift the tank a wee bit and shine a light in there...youll see it all...if you can get your hand in sqeeze the electrical fitting together...if it snaps into place it's obviously been loose...you gotta check all these things...better than giving your bike away...lol.

Unfortunately I dont have the bike with me for now so I cant try what you suggested even though its a great idea.
I rang a motorbike transport guy to pick up my bike with the offer he can have it............he dropped it off at the dealership instead.
I gave the key to the dealership after going through what happened yesterday and today. They are good so I trust them.
But if the issue cant be 100% identified and fixed, I dont want it back. I cant have a bike to ride I know at any minute could leave me stranded again like the last 2 days. I hope its nothing more than a damaged battery. The bike is 2 years old from build date plus with all the rain we have had, I have gone weeks and even a month without starting it
One thing of note, whatever the issue, it shorts out everything, not just 1 or 2 items so that might be something.
I will mention your idea to my dealer if they cant find a fault.
Its a shame. I love this bike but its really getting to me despite how well I look after it

Dont be giving up brutha...some body will find something and all of a sudden it'll all make sense...remember...Patience was a virgin!

Most have posted about wire harness connectors in various places, but another possibility is the PCB soldering of a connector not being what it should be, unfortunately finding gremlins in electrical systems on bikes and cars is a PITA, to say the least! 😡

I am currently chasing an electrical gremlin in my wife's 2013 HD FLS, the bike runs fine except the speedometer, rpm, and dash lights don't work... unless I lift the tank and start fiddling with a connector underneath, at which point things sometimes light up. 😭

I experienced something kinda similar - sometimes everything worked perfectly, sometimes the bike would just be dead.

The battery tested good. I replaced it anyway and haven't had any problems since.
Dealership rang me yesterday. Sparks were coming from either the negative terminal or the negative wire leading to the terminal during their testing. A new battery has been ordered from Triumph in Melbourne. Although that may not be the problem, they have to at least eliminate that from being the cause. The battery may have been the weak link or maybe something else that shorted out or damaged the battery.....
To be continued............

Sparks mean that the bolt was to long and tightening down b4 terminals got tight that is why i told you to try and move the terminals.
while you are waiting for bat have them put a washer on the bolt and retighten.
maybe on the positive.
