This is what happens with a slip-on muffler and a RAMAIR and no tune. Despite all advice to the contrary this guy brought his bike in on a trailer. I let it idle for a while until it was up to 80 deg C , then rode it gently to warm the tyre etc before baseline testing the bike. Up to about 1/4 throttle, almost no load and the ambient temp was 19 deg C and I had 75 km/hr wind in my dyno room. LEAN as all get out. 2016 Rocket X. This is why I cringe, when I read, "yeah do this it will be allright mate" or similar pearls of wisdom. Thought this may be of interest.

I cringe when I see photos like this and the guy posting saying THIS WRONG PAY ME AND I'LL FIX IT

Plenty of post about chocolate gearboxes but I have never seen a post on here about burnt valves or holed piston due to a lean running .

Tune up cos the tuner guy said it needs it .

But I'm sure its a big issue and keeps the tuners in work

Just for my own edification . What are you seeing in that that's setting off alarm bells?

I see what looks to be discolored chrome but that could be a reflection.

Modern bikes come from the factory very lean to begin with then all the things we do really screw up the AFR even more Now Neville is not trying to sell anything (he is in Austrailia) but kindly pointing out the obvious to some of us, you can not beat a good tuner.

One question why did the guy ceramic coat his header bright red then cover it with heat shields??????????????

I looked at this and wondered why someone ran red tubing behind the header. Then I looked at it for 2-3 more minutes and said "holy sh!t, that's the header that is bright red"

Me too! I was looking and looking mostly at the wiring thinking maybe that had been damaged. Then the light bulb shone nice bright 'red'..

I spend a lot of time on Facebook, (get a lot of Business there)
The number of Twats out there that say you don't need a re-map, and that the "12 minute tune" is all you need to do ......
I have even been abused for saying other wise, it's actually got to the point that I don't say much at all in this respect these days.

Then occasionally some one will have their bike re-tuned and will come back and say that I was correct and that the bike now runs so much cooler AND performs better .... Duh !

I wonder what his REAL problem was ?
