I recomend PCV
there are alot more dyno shops around that deal with the dyno jet software than the others.
i just had my bike dynoed with pcv installed and it runs great best decision i have made. the power comander controls the air fuel ratios. I do have a base tune installed in my ecu via tune ecu "free program" that sets my secondaries open 100% and what not and i used a tune that got me roughly around the mark until i could be dynoed.
but in my opinion your bike wont run at its optimum level with a mere canned tune as every bike is different so a powercomander and a dyno is definately the way to go:cool:

Note this is a VERY OLD thread.

Far more of us have the PCV than before - Though I was a fairly early adopter thanks to @warp9.9 - back when the PCV was not advertised for pre Roadster machines.

Use TuneECU to set basic operational parameters and let the PCV/AT do the rest. Or see a DYNO GOD.
But if you want to get the best out of things you NEED to understand what you want to achieve - "GO BETTER" and "RUN BETTER" are very vague. "Smooth out throttle response under 3% TPS" - is a concrete goal.

Just for clarity for a non tech Guy. I’ve just installed a map recommendation from PC for my set up PCV / DP outlaws / H&N air box delete. As posted in another thread it’s a massive improvement. ( smoother , faster, better sound etc) While decel pop has been greatly reduced it’s still happens on hard engine braking and I guess that’s normal as my stock set up would do this. So big improvement and I’m very happy.
But....I’ve got the bug now. If I now added the auto tune would it refine this map even more and get even better? ( so far I’ve been to 3 Dyno shops and frankly don’t trust em. To them it Harley to the exclusion of all else).

Alternatively, a great guy has sent me a tune done by a real specialist for his bike that is set up identically to mine. I’d have to load this with ECU tune though. If I did this ... what happens to 1) my current stand alone PCV and the map in that? 2) what would happen after this ECU tune if I added the Auto tune? ( what tune would I put in the PCV after loading this ECU tune?)
Thanks everyone this is a steep but enjoyable leaning curve for me and I’m sure other non techs like me...keep it coming we’re leaning from you and our ride is getting even better...thanks
