PCV is usable on earlier models. I do not know if that has always been the case but it is true now.

call them as they may not have the model listed for the '05 on the website. The dealer I purchased the PCV from has it listed as part #1020-1213 on the invoice. not sure if that is dynojet's part # or dealers - I will look.

After a 20 minute conversation with the Dyno Jet tech guy, I ordered both the PCV and the Auto Tune. Here's why. The guy said the Auto Tune has the ability to make temporary adjustments (A 3rd fuel table) as you drive. The PC goes back to the base fuel table that is in the unit once you shut the bike down.

With a bike that has been dynoed the adjustments will be minuscule. But,,,,,he said the Auto Tune has the ability to make huge changes when you make modifications to your bike. (Exhaust, cams, pistons, air cleaners, Etc.)

I called him on it and asked if he was sure the unit could make big adjustments as well as trim adjustments. He said absolutely. The Auto Tune uses the same technology as does their dyno. We shall see.

Yes you can program the auto tune feature to a range or % positive or negative in which to perform fuel changes. Say 20% this means the autotune will adjust the fueling and make changes inside the parameters programed in this case add up to 20% fuel or take away 20% if needed. The only thing you have to worry about is the O2 sensor degrading over time as they all do. But if you use it and then remove the sensor until you need to tune the next time it will last quite a while.

I know this might cause some ire to the tuners, but the guy at Dyno Jet said and I quote, "Quite frankly, you should not have to dyno tune the bike with the Auto Tune. The Auto Tune will be able to make any changes to the base map the engine needs."

Like I said before, we shall see. If it works,,,,,there might be a lot less dyno tune business for street bikes.

Just reading the threads and havn't yet got into the finer things but am I right in thinking so far the PCV and the auto tune are 2 different units and they work together when installed? Wonder if the O2 sensor size is correct for the R3

The 02 sensor is sized for the r3. Yes the PCV will function independently and the auto tuner is an add-on option. While the Dyno tune is not necessary it would be interesting to get a base dyno and another dyno run after running it for a few hundred miles to see the actual changes in hp and tq. Again, I am suggesting just a dyno run to check hp and tq not to tune it. A dyno base typically will cost $35-45 and for that small amount the results would be worthwhile to see actual hp and tq msmts.
