TuneBoy is HERE!

I downloaded the 20050_2 off of the Tuneboy website. I'm running K&N filter under the tank and D&D pipes with no cat box. Running much better, still a little surging in certain RPM ranges. I guess I've got to play around a little more. Make sure I have the stepper motors set correctly and the TPS voltage adjusted.

I ordered mine from NewR3.........got my key in about 2 hours...........what is your setup?

I used the Tors tune with no cat............with a little more richness from Dougl.

I can't upload or edit anything till I get the Edit key from Tuneboy.

I will start with the 44 tune. That's the Classic III with aftermarket pipes and no Cat.

Gary

Are not all the "Classic" tunes a bit limiting? Triumph felt they shouldn't be "go fast" bikes, but it is still the same motor...

Well I guess I should've bought the program directly from TuneBoy.

They did finally get back to me only to inform me that I have to get the edit key from the people purchased from . . . unlike any software I've ever bought. usually you just log on to the publishers web site . . .it checks the computer and says . .. yep you're the purchaser and gives the go ahead.

Now I have an 800lb. boat ancher sitting in my carport cause the NewBonneville folks are on vacation till the 7th and they are the ones that have to get me the Edit Key numbers.

I believe a Dongle would've been better . . . one Dongle per bike.

Oh well . . . it happens.

I'll let you all know what I find when I get the numbers and can adjust it.

Hey GLdean, I was in the exact same position yesterday and Brent (newr3.com) sent me my key in a couple hours despite the out of office reply from them.

That would be nice cause I have some Dyno time scheduled for Saturday.

That gives me a few days to work the bugs out and establish a base tune to work from before we strap it down.

We'll see . . . thanks! :?

Funny thing is everything, even the software says to send email directly to TuneBoy for the Edit Key. Then you find out 4 hours later you have to acquire it from the vendor purchased. Had I known this .. . I could've contacted them ahead of time, sent it in to them and had the key by now . . . or not.

It's been sitting with the covers and seat off all day anyway . . . too late to get it back on the road tonight . . . tomorrow is another day.

Does anyone know if the software can be loaded more than once or is it gonna be stuck, locked and unusable on other computers?

Reason I ask . . . the Dyno folks don't have this program (being a V-Twin ship they have absolutely no use for it), and I don't wanna have to haul my desktop down there if I can load it temporarily on one of their laptops to run the diagnostics along side the Dyno runs.

Thoughts?

The only time I needed to enter any key was to unlock it for my bikes ecu. I assume now that I have the key, I could install the software and then the key on another computer.

That's what I'm hoping cause it will only be used to tune my bike. Don't wanna get down there on the Dyno Shops clock and not be able to access the bikes ECU because of some software BS keeping me from accessing the bike because it's on another computer other than the original loaded. Course once I get it tuned . . . the software will most likely never be used again unless I change something on the bike.

I have one Tuneboy key but have run Tuneboy on my desktop to bike and on my laptop to bike. Your tuner surely has a computer, so all he's gotta do is do the free download from Tuneboy's website; and you provide the key.

I can't tell ya how to hook Tuneboy up to a dyno though. My tuner has done a bunch of work with Tuneboy and just knows how to do it.

Will you be hooking Tuneboy up to the dyno? Or will you do a run, make some adjustments in Tuneboy, then do another run, make some adjustments, etc.?

Not real sure . . . I would think the easiest would be make a run, get the printout with the low/flat areas and adjust accordingly. At least I'll know exactly where the curves are being affected with the TuneBoy.

Course I'm open to suggestions. :D
