Tune ECU Com Problem

I have spent the last 3 hours trying to get the Win 7 laptop to talk to the ECU..

I tried everything I could think of, used TuneECU driver for the cable Device Manager says no issues.
Re down loaded and re installed Tune ECU software, opens no issues.
I tried Auto connect and manual connect, Cable lights show flashing Green and occassional Yellow.

All I keep getting is Cable not connected and Ign on/off reset.

Cable plug and Socket connectors look OK .
Battery charger connected/ H/lights Off
Laptop on Mains supply

1- Computer on
2- switched off Int connection
3- Disabled Int virus protection software
3- Plugged in Cable to PC
4- Plugged Bike ECU plug into Cable Socket.
5- Turned on Ign
5- Cable socket lights active Green Yellow intermittant flashing
6 Error Message Cable not connected. Ign on/off

7- I give up only wanted to save Bike ECU tune file to memory stick Grrrrrrr!

8- Shout "HELP"

Any Ideas please ????

Try this, set up cable,turn on bike key, open Tuneecu

No.. I must have a faulty new cable maybe, or the wrong driver installed

Bayswater but I would need another cable to try and eliminate a cable fault. if I have time I will check the ECU wiring or just leave it alone until I get the PCv

Does the red led on the plug come on and stay on constantly, reason I ask is there was a bit of crap on the bikes plug when I first got my cable and since then I follow this sequence pull fuse on lights connect cable to bike and check the light is on then I connect to Computor which is already on and has TuneECU up and running then turn on ignition get Red flashing which changes to orange and then green. Occasionly the message has come on and I just disconnect and reconnect switch ignition off and back on. I think sometime there might be a bit of dust that gets rapped in the electrical grease
