Transmission issue

Ok, I was being an idiot but just got back from a ride and my rocket was idling funny. So I put it into neutral and revved it up (no clutch) and it popped into first, lurched ahead hard and stalled. I tried to start and ride it to see of it was effed up. Hard to find neutral, had to gear up and back when off. Then I was able to find neutral and start it. First thing was once I put it into first lots of noise but seemed ok, noise went away mostly as i hit second and third, then whole bunch of noise and I had to pull it over. Again couldn't shift, turned it off, went through the gears, started it and limped home in second. Thoughts or ideas? Am I about to replace a tranny? Clutch?
