Touring Tires

Are you are talking a mile oval track or a mile straight line drag race?
Either way, the Bridgestone Exedra Max has both tires for your R3T. This is rare indeed for a Rocket.
Both the 150/80R16 and the 180/70R16 are 77Vs!

Radial Construction

Radial-ply tires have the belts at a 90-degree angle to the tire, and the belts overlap rather than cross each other. The ply labeled 12 in the diagram is a radial-ply. Radial tires have another belt, usually of steel cord, running around the tire under the tread. Radial construction allows the sidewall of the tire to flex under loads without affecting the contact of the tread with the road.

I did have longer shocks made by ikon for me, they are tall as I barely touch the ground, they did help handling but I also went to exerdra max radials from commander 11 bias ply at the same time, oem sizes, handling is noticeably better, I would like to get bike down just a little to feel more comfortable when stopped and moving bike around with feet, but loosing any of the handling at speeds I don’t want to sacrifice for this want. Thanks

Ikon shocks are 1/2 longer that’s center eyelet to eyelet measured

Steve between both of my R3T’s I’ve put over 75,000 mi. with this combo and no I’ll effects.

I spent years on bias ply MC tires. When radials came out, it was night & day for me and I never went back.
When in a twisty, the radials handle much more lateral force before they let go. The only small downside is when the radials do let go (break out of the friction circle), they go faster than do the the bias ply. This slightly decreases the time you have to react and attempt a recovery.
I don't know "Icon" shocks, but to me, it sounds like you have a good setup - for a Touring.

thanks Steve I’ve been trying hard to spend money on tires to reach the 170mph area the bike will probably do after Rob works his magic and meet the rules but 149mph will be good enough, safe for me to go and run the mile and have a good time

OK - NOW I see! I'd forgotten that you are the "other guy" that Rob is bringing into the 200+RWHP club.
I've hit 153 GPS with my R3R stock engine. If ya 86 the shield and bags, you should reach or exceed that 170mph.

I’ve got a boulevard peak to put on for run and I will loose the bags before takeoff, I plan on riding to track
