TORS and Ramair - need a tune that's in-between...

The thing is, air in and air out between them (air intake and the exhaust) kind of determine how much fuel you need to put in as well to match. You can run the bike lean-ish, but just slapping any old map in there is just a stab in the dark. I mean, all the maps are basically just starting points from where you put the bike on a dyno and dial it in. Just messing around with them blindly without feedback doesn't strike me as the safest option.

I have an 05 with RamAir & TOR's also. I recently put a wonderful tune from Hanso on it........ Holy Shat! no power commander needed!
P/M me your email address & I'll send it to you

And put your location info in your Avatar block...... Please
East Texas,

Do you (or anyone else) know if the RamAir tune you have will translate well to triple K&N's? I just put triple K&N's on my 2005. I also have TORs with the deleted catbox on my 2005. If so, I would appreciate it if you'd send it.

Thanks--

I don't know the answer to your question, but HansO on this board does. Just find him and send him a PM, he has tunes for everything. As others have said, the best way is to have the bike dyno'd and tuned, but if you're like me, there's no one in my part of the country that does that. If you take it to the dealer (here) and tell them to put TORs on, they're just going to dump a TOR's map in so not sure why that's any different than what I've done.

I am running a RamAir and TORS on my '13 R3T and I get about 27-30mpg. My tune has been tweaked on the dyno so I know it is about as good as it will get (tune and mileage). I am reasonably happy with the gas mileage because my truck and car get 14-16. My commute consists of about 6 miles of a secondary road, 6 miles of interstate and then another 6 miles of driving through town. I can't remember my mileage for road trips but I am sure if I putted along with the V2s it would be better than what I get when riding with another Rocket or 3. ;)

One thing about my tune, the secondarys are not open 100% from the get go. IIRC they are at about 87% in 1st then open wide. I will look at the tune later when I get home to make sure.

Interesting to know. I'm getting the same MPG you are with the map HansO sent. I'm sure a dyno tune would be better but my map must be close!

Hans0 is currently 'off the grid" due to a crash. And I do not have anyone around me to dyno my bike.

I'll be happy to send the map Hanso sent to me if you want to PM me. I'm not the expert here but would suspect that the ramair setup is very close to the triple K&N setup.

I got a 20366 off the TuneECU site, and it ended up being lean. It's derestricted though. I used the F table to enrich it 6%, and I may dial the low end back to 4 or 5 percent. My cruising mileage is also around 30, so I am really not in any hurry.

No, you can't use the map for @Nogrey 2012 model in your 2005 model!

@Jabo75 PM me your email address & I will send you the map HansO provided me - should not make any difference with K&N's vs RamAir - Our setup is virtually the same  :)
