The Three Sisters, aka The Twisted Sisters

I am interested in attending and meeting you all. Although I am afraid I will be the odd duck riding a fully stock, zero mods R3R.
I would be one of the riders at the back of the pack on these roads!
I rode the Sisters a couple of years ago on my Tiger 800, but have not done that level of twisty/hilly on the R3R.

My challenges to being able to commit are:
  • No luggage on my 100% stock '14 R3R (yet)
    • I actully have a kit and some bags from Viking but the install looks to be beyond my capability; I will need to get it out again and see if I could attempt it.
  • No Windshield / screen - This would be essential for me to have a enjoyable longer distance ride; esp if we get a cold snap and some rain that weekend. But the new ones are way out of my budget.
    • Anyone know of a good deal on a used kit that would fit a '14 Roadster?
  • Lodging - I would be interested in splitting a 2 BR / 2 BA cabin with someone arriving Thursday, departing Sunday.

Will you be coming to this?

Thanks that helps. I do not remeber seeing any vertical baffles just tbe one running lengthwise across the top that the scavenger return line dumps onto. Thhe line comes up from the bottom and has a bend so the oil pumps out across the baffle. When I cut one open it might be a little clearer.

Probably less than Steel, but I used to wheelie mine frequently when I first got it. So far my cams are still turning

I am now on the "maybe" list, water pump gasket started leaking today around the top bolt on the way home from work and trying to get one. Problem is going to Vegas Friday for 25th anniversary and get back Wednesday, if I can get part it's a quick fix and bonus my windshield will be here also I can fix it Wednesday afternoon.
I have taken "O" rings like this a soaked them in transmission fluid and make them swell up a bit and work a while but not a proper fix.
The deer pic is cool I have an 8mm home movie from the 70's in that area with a 100 plus deer in one herd.

What's it lookin like guys?????

It's looking good. Clear and cool. We might be able to wear the heavy leathers.

How's the Houston riders coordinating a rendezvous? I'm leaving Clear Lake @ 10 am west bound to meet Tex @ the Flying J on 10 and Waller. Plan to meet my brother who is riding from Jasper before noon to gas up and coffee up. Will this work? I'm @ 832 877 9087 or 713 906 0414. Bringing a small SUV as safety chase vehicle. Passengers and whatever are welcome. 34 in the front 43 in the back. Let's go!

Don't know that wheelies caused Steel's problem. Just said it might be related. Doubtful that you turned the same rpms on one wheel Steel did with the Carpenter motor. Nor do you have the heavier valve springs.

I'm still good for the Flying J in Brookshire at Noon on the 20th. At this point it looks like I will have 4 other bikes (5 total) with me but that number could vary by one or two depending on how things work out. I still have one of the bikes giving me carb problems so it may be one less bike and some ballast
