The Outlaw's Storm

XD45 goes nicely with my XM15 6.8 SPC
Don't tell too many folks what ya might have.

Picked up my Storm. Man am I loving this bike. There is a definite difference between it and the Rocket. Rocket will snap your back in half. The Storm can but its silky smooth and the six speed is what I always wanted on the 06 Rocket. What a ride. Happy Happy Happy. More great stuff from Triumph. Now for a Thruxton if I hit the lottery.

NO RAIN and danged near 60 degrees this coming weekend. where to ride, where to ride ?

It needs a throttle control device and a back rest.

Did some nice riding this weekend. Over to Gatlinburg shootin through the Gorge on I-40 between Asheville and Sevierville. Rode a short bit with J and W. Traffic already sux around Gatlinburg. I had an HD rider ask me about the TBird. He said it wa a nice lookin bike to which I about fell over. I said that I also have the Rocket III and he asked about the difference between them and this is how I summed it up.

"If I get on the throttle of the Rocket too hard, by the time I can say OH SH*T, I am dead. On The Storm I have two seconds to save my sorry ass after OH SH*T".

I am very pleased with it so far. Sounds good, rides good (except the Progressive shocks try to drive my tail bone into the base of my skull) and handles exceptionally. Must make some subtle changes for my back to survive it though.

The IRS has deposited funds from my annual non interest bearing account with them so I think the MadStad Engineering windshield and a ProTac backrest are in order. LAISSEZ BON TEMPS ROULEZ.

Anyone interested in riding to Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day ? Its personal for me, just asking.

Josey, when you get the chance can you measure the center to center distance of the handle bar risers where they mount on the toop triple tree. I am curious if the handle bars and risers are adaptable to the Rocket. It might help with the mounting of a Scotts steering damper.
Thanks

Thats the one. The "Half Backs" here are maddening. Half Back is a yankee that moved to Florida but its too hot in the summer so they invade here and hang out all summer long until its too cold then they go back. Goldilocks in a Buick.

Ha, spent 20 plus years in Florida after getting back from Vietnam. Got my pilots license down there then jumped out of a perfectly good airplane out in Indiantown. Some fond memories there. Still have an acre of land near Keaton Beach.

I lived there too. Took me many years at impoverished construction wages to get enuff to rent a U Haul to get the heck out. By the way, our favorite waitress at the bar/restaurant in Chimney Rock is still there and sends her best. Said she would wear a Triumph tank top if someone buys her one.
